The sea began to churn violently, and the sky darkened ominously. It was clear that a storm was brewing.

Shen Qingli struggled in the water, trying to use her spiritual power to break free from the aura that bound her. But it was futile; instead of loosening, the spiritual energy around her body tightened further.

Gulping for air, she sensed her oxygen dwindling. She cast a spell to breathe underwater. Then she attempted to swim upward, but an invisible barrier seemed to imprison her within this small realm.

Suddenly, a strong undercurrent surged toward her again. Shen Qingli fought fiercely, managing to resist part of it, preventing herself from being swept away.

“It seems I must use force against force,” she murmured, channeling her spiritual energy to draw some power from the ocean.

A man’s call came from above, urging her to hurry. She quickened her pace, occasionally glancing upward at the darkening sky—an impending storm was imminent.

“Break!” With a surge of spiritual power, she was delighted to find she could harness the ocean’s strength. Quickly, she shattered the binding aura and surged upward, grabbing hold of Gu Qingming, who was about to sink.

She hauled him to the surface just in time.

The crew rushed over immediately, pulling both of them from the water.

“Ms. Shen, are you alright?” the director asked anxiously, knowing the man behind her was none other than Xie Jinchuan.

“I’m fine. Let’s check if Gu Qingming is okay first,” Shen Qingli replied. Gu Qingming had tried to save her, but the crashing waves had knocked him into the sea.

“I’m okay, just swallowed some water,” Gu Qingming assured them.

“The wind is picking up rapidly. Let’s get back to the RV quickly!” the director shouted as the crew hurriedly packed up.

Everyone retreated to safety—those with RVs boarded them; others took shelter indoors.

Outside, the sea wind howled incessantly, and the sky turned pitch black, a terrifying sight. It seemed the storm would not subside anytime soon.

Back in the RV, Shen Qingli dried off and lightly moved her fingers, using her spiritual power to track the person responsible for these recent events.

She quickly locked onto a familiar figure and sneered.

“So it’s really her!”

At the same moment, Rong Qiaoyi sensed something was wrong. She turned to flee, but vines suddenly wrapped around her ankles, refusing to release no matter how much she struggled.

“Damn it, Shen Qingli! We are sworn enemies!” Rong Qiaoyi growled, but her hidden position kept her out of others’ sight, so no help came.

She shouted, but a gust of sand blew directly into her mouth, choking her. The fierce wind nearly swept her away, and her once-glamorous appearance was utterly ruined.

All of this was her own doing.

She tried desperately to quell the storm with her spiritual power, but no matter what she did, the tempest only grew stronger.

“I don’t want to die here!” she cried, tugging at the vines.

Suddenly, she heard the creaking of a coconut tree overhead. Just as it was about to fall on her, she broke free and used her spiritual power to flee quickly back to the city, narrowly escaping death.

...

Inside the RV, once Rong Qiaoyi was gone, Shen Qingli focused her spiritual energy to suppress the storm.

Exhausted and drenched in sweat, she sat back. Drawing on the forces of nature was taxing for her.

“I’m tired. I want to sleep. Please tell them for me,” she said to her assistant before collapsing onto the bed and drifting into a deep sleep.

Xie Jinchuan had sensed the storm’s onset instantly but was entangled and unable to reach her.

Lu Qingqing, seeing his darkened expression, reluctantly released him.

“Mr. Xie, I swear I only know this much. I really don’t know anything else,” she pleaded. “Rong Qiaoyi forced me to do this. I have no other involvement.”

As she spoke, a suffocating sensation seized her.

“I warned you: if you don’t tell the truth, you will suffer greatly,” Xie Jinchuan’s cold gaze sent a chill down Lu Qingqing’s spine.

She tried to speak but no sound came out—her mouth opened without voice.

Xie Jinchuan, unfazed, said calmly, “If your mouth is useless to you, then don’t make a sound.”

“Take care of yourself from now on.”

Before leaving, he cast a divine flame onto Lu Qingqing.

This flame was no ordinary fire—if it entered her body, it would burn her from within, causing unbearable agony in scorching waves lasting an hour every four or five hours.

Watching him depart, Lu Qingqing writhed on the floor in pain, her hatred for Rong Qiaoyi deepening.

“Damn Rong Qiaoyi. If you don’t return my original spirit fully after this, don’t blame me for being ruthless!”

Unable to speak aloud, she resorted to using her spiritual power to communicate, which drained her even further.

...

After dealing with Lu Qingqing, Xie Jinchuan hurried to the crew’s location.

He entered the RV and saw the young girl sleeping on the bed. Approaching quietly, he began to nurture her with his spiritual energy.

“This time, it’s my fault. I should have been by your side earlier,” he murmured, feeling a pang of guilt as he sensed her depleted spiritual reserves.

When most of the energy was restored, and his face turned pale, he finally stopped.

“She should be fine now.”

Seeing the abundant spiritual energy within Shen Qingli, he breathed a sigh of relief and wrapped her gently in his arms, falling asleep beside her.

Unnoticed, the jade pendant on the table flickered twice.

Thanks to the replenishing spiritual power, Shen Qingli soon woke up.

Sensing the man pressing against her, she gradually opened her eyes.

Seeing Xie Jinchuan’s pale face and feeling the revived energy within her, she understood what had happened.

“You really are a fool. It’s not like you can be by my side all the time.”

She knew she had to grow, so she didn’t blame him.

Still, she never expected him to be quite this foolish.
