“No one is more shameless than you, Jin Chuan,” she said with a frown, her body stiffening.

Though it was hardly a compliment, the man’s face bore the look of someone who had just received praise.

He tightened his hold on her waist, his voice low and firm. “What’s the use of having shame? I think having a wife is far more important.”

His deep voice whispered into Qingli’s ear.

Recalling their recent encounters, she arched an eyebrow.

“What exactly do you mean by this now? Aren’t you going to find Rong Qiao Yi?”

“Some people were still holding onto her last night,” he teased.

Qingli didn’t even realize how jealous her words sounded.

But Jin Chuan noticed and grinned wider, boldly pulling her closer into his embrace.

“I already explained what happened last night. You just don’t believe me,” he said.

After much thought, Jin Chuan had decided to clarify everything to Qingli, even sneaking into her dreams because he thought she would be asleep by then.

His humble explanation seemed to have softened her somewhat. At least she wasn’t turning away from him like before.

“That was just a dream. Who knows if what you said is true or not?” Qingli said, avoiding his gaze and beginning to playfully resist.

Jin Chuan raised an eyebrow and leaned in closer.

His large hand gently cupped the back of her head. “Are you sure it was only a dream last night?”

Looking into his sincere, dark eyes, Qingli’s gaze faltered.

Just as she was about to speak, his hand pressed lightly on the back of her head, drawing their lips together.

“Mmmph!”

Jin Chuan smiled deeply, applying a bit more pressure as he pinned her hands and gently laid her down on the sofa.

The kiss was warm and passionate, drawing them both into its embrace.

His expression darkened as he felt the urge to consume her entirely.

But then, her small hands pushed against his chest a few times.

He pulled back slightly, giving her a moment to breathe and speak. “Hmm?”

Qingli’s cheeks flushed and her eyes glistened, soft and vulnerable.

“We can’t—this is the set, inside the trailer,” she whispered.

He chuckled low and deep.

“Alright, I’ll listen to you,” Jin Chuan said, his voice full of affection as he gazed at her lips.

“Still want to kiss? What should I do then?”

His deep, melodious voice made her heart race wildly.

“I can’t stop you,” she replied, blushing.

The next moment, he tilted her chin up and captured her lips again with an even more fervent kiss, filling the small trailer with heated passion.

Outside the trailer, Qingming carried a freshly prepared meal, heading toward Qingli’s trailer.

Seeing that she hadn’t eaten much earlier, he knew she would be hungry tonight.

Holding a dish of pickled fish, a small smile played on his lips. “Big sister loves pickled fish the most. I practiced for a long time—I’m sure she’ll praise my cooking!”

He knocked on the door.

“Big sister, I made your favorite pickled fish!”

Inside, Qingli, pinned beneath Jin Chuan who was behaving rather possessively, tapped his shoulder to signal him to stop and let her go.

“No, you can’t eat yet. I brought you food,” Jin Chuan said like a child, and before she could reply, he silenced her with a kiss.

Outside, Qingming frowned when he heard no reply.

“Big sister, are you in there?” he knocked again.

Suddenly, he heard a heavy object drop. Concerned, he knocked once more.

“Big sister?”

Qingli pushed Jin Chuan away, glared at him warningly, quickly changed clothes, and headed to the door.

On his fourth knock, the trailer door opened.

“Big sister, I…”

Qingming’s cheerful gaze fell immediately on her swollen, reddened lips.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a man’s clothing deliberately visible inside the trailer.

So… Jin Chuan was there.

That scoundrel.

“Qingming, take this food back if you’re not going to eat it. Eat it yourself. Get some rest tonight—you need to be at your best for tomorrow’s variety show,” Qingli said seriously.

“Always keep your condition in mind, okay?”

She sounded like a manager, fully in business mode, leaving Qingming momentarily speechless.

“Qingming?”

Hearing her call, he regained his composure.

“If you’re not eating, then you’re really missing out.”

“Make sure you get to bed early. Tomorrow, we’ll be shooting the show together. People online have already started shipping us—it’s a good thing.”

“Tomorrow, I’ll need you to interact with me a bit more.”

Qingli nodded. “Okay, I understand. Don’t worry, I’ll do it for the show.”

“Then get some rest, and don’t let strangers bother you.”

With that, Qingming returned to his own trailer, carrying the pickled fish.

His manager was surprised when he saw him come back just like that.

“Did you not deliver it? Or was she not there?”

Placing the dish down, Qingming snorted, “I’m like this fish—sour, ordinary, and unnecessary!”

His manager raised an eyebrow, about to ask more, but the man angrily went back to bed.

Seeing this, the manager could only eat the pickled fish himself.

After one bite, he frowned and stuck out his tongue. “Why is this so sour?”

In another trailer, Jin Chuan unpacked the food he had brought.

Everything was Qingli’s favorite foods—except no pickled fish.

“You must be tired from rushing here. Eat something and rest well,” he said, watching her like a little glutton.

“You go ahead and eat. I’m going to watch closely how you perform on the variety show today.”

Hearing his teasing tone, Qingli smiled and continued eating heartily.

She had really worked hard today, and the meals prepared by the crew were hardly enough for her.

“You never even tied my scarf for me,” Jin Chuan said sourly.

Qingli ignored him.

Then, curious, she asked, “Have you seen any news from Rong Qiao Yi’s side?”

Jin Chuan shook his head. “Nothing yet. I haven’t sensed that strange energy again. Looks like we’ll have to wait a while.”

Hearing this, Qingli nodded thoughtfully.
