After dinner that evening, Su Manman took the initiative to pull Ye Feng onto the sofa to watch a movie together.

“Manman, I heard this horror film is really scary. Are you sure you want to watch it?” Ye Feng sounded concerned, worried that Su Manman might be frightened by the terrifying scenes.

“With you by my side, I’m not afraid,” Su Manman replied with a dazzling smile over her shoulder.

Ye Feng sensed the change in her attitude towards him and felt deeply gratified.

“All right then.” As long as Manman liked it, Ye Feng was always willing to accompany her.

More than an hour later, the movie ended amid Su Manman’s screams, and Ye Feng’s arm had been pinched purple by her grip.

Su Manman looked apologetically at Ye Feng’s injured arm. “Sorry, I was too rough.”

“It’s fine,” Ye Feng replied, glancing at the clock. It was already one in the morning; usually, Su Manman would have been asleep long ago. He gently reminded her, “Manman, you should get some rest.”

“Mm.” She nodded and headed upstairs. After a few steps, memories of the scary scenes flashed through her mind, making her uneasy. She called out to Ye Feng, who was about to turn away.

“Ye Feng, wait.”

“What is it, Manman?” Ye Feng asked, puzzled.

“Well... how about... you sleep with me tonight?” As soon as the words left her lips, Su Manman’s cheeks flushed crimson, and she felt a little embarrassed.

Ye Feng was stunned for a moment.

Three years. For three whole years, apart from cleaning Su Manman’s room, Ye Feng had never entered it—let alone been invited to sleep there with her.

A few seconds later, as he processed her words, delight burst across his face.

He nodded eagerly like a pecking chick. “Okay, I’ll sleep with you.” A sly grin crept onto his lips.

Hearing his answer, Su Manman’s face turned an even deeper red.

They entered Su Manman’s room together. It was decorated in a girlish style—pink curtains, pink sheets—spotless and tidy.

“All right, let’s rest. I have to work tomorrow,” Su Manman said, pulling Ye Feng onto the bed.

Lying on Su Manman’s bed for the first time, Ye Feng was overcome with excitement. The pillow was fragrant with her hair, and the alluring scent beside him sent tingles through his body.

Su Manman quickly closed her eyes on the bed, but Ye Feng was too elated to sleep.

Suddenly, Su Manman burrowed into Ye Feng’s arms, her delicate hands wrapping themselves around his neck. A captivating smile played across her lips.

Ye Feng gazed at her glossy black hair, her exquisite profile, and the perfect curves outlined by her nightdress—his self-control was sorely tested.

Fortunately, his will was strong enough. Otherwise, he feared he might do something to anger Su Manman. Instead, he simply held his lovely wife tighter and closed his eyes to sleep.

At that moment, Su Manman, pretending to sleep, opened her eyes. Hearing Ye Feng’s steady breathing, she felt a twinge of disappointment.

“Is it that I have no charm? I’ve been so forward, and he still doesn’t react. Do I really have to spell it out for him?” An impish smile curled her lips. “Let’s see how long you can resist. Hmph, just you wait!” With that, she closed her eyes and drifted off.

The next morning.

Ye Feng got up early to prepare breakfast for Su Manman, his mood light and cheerful.

“Manman, time to get up! Breakfast is ready!” Ye Feng called upstairs.

“Got it,” Su Manman mumbled sleepily. She washed up, changed, and came downstairs.

Glancing at the breakfast Ye Feng had made, she took a few quick bites and hurried off.

“Be careful on your way,” Ye Feng called after her, uneasy to see her leave in such a rush.

After he finished cleaning, Ye Feng had just sat down on the sofa when his phone rang. Looking at the screen, he saw it was “A” calling. He picked up.

“Boss, I saw Shen Meng checking into a hotel with that pretty boy,” came the cheeky voice.

Ye Feng’s brow furrowed at the news, his face darkening instantly.

“Where are they?”

“At the Holiday Motel. Room 203.”

After getting the address, Ye Feng hung up and dialed his good friend Si Xu. The call was answered after a few rings.

“Ye Feng, what’s up?” Si Xu answered lazily from his bed.

“Of course there’s something. You’re not up yet? Get ready, I’ll wait for you downstairs,” Ye Feng said coldly.

“All right.” Sensing something was wrong from Ye Feng’s tone, Si Xu assumed something had happened and immediately got up after hanging up.

Ye Feng pocketed his phone and left the house.

...

Ye Feng took a taxi to Si Xu’s place and called him.

“Come down, I’m outside.”

“Okay, be right there.” They hung up.

Si Xu hurried down and spotted a red taxi. Ye Feng rolled down the window and waved.

“Si Xu, hurry!”

Si Xu rushed to the taxi, got in, and asked, “Bro, what’s happened?”

“If you trust me, don’t ask.” Then to the driver: “Driver, quick, to the Holiday Motel!”

Si Xu noticed Ye Feng’s grim expression and didn’t press further. He trusted Ye Feng—he would never do anything to harm him.

At the Holiday Motel.

They arrived, and Ye Feng tossed a hundred-yuan bill to the driver before getting out.

“Hey, kid, your change!” the driver called after him.

Without turning around, Ye Feng replied, “Keep it.”

Si Xu was puzzled—what had Ye Feng brought him here for? But trusting him, he simply followed.

At the front desk, Ye Feng asked, “Hello, has the guest in 203 checked out?”

“One moment, I’ll check,” the receptionist replied, tapping on the computer. “No, they haven’t.”

“All right, thank you.” Ye Feng quickly pulled Si Xu up to the second floor.

Soon, the two reached Room 203, breathless. Ye Feng steadied himself and knocked.

A woman’s impatient voice came from inside. “Who is it?”

Wearing a bathrobe and looking annoyed, Shen Meng opened the door. She froze when she saw who was outside.

Si Xu was just as shocked—he hadn’t expected his girlfriend, Shen Meng, to open the door. “Mengmeng, what are you doing here?”

A flash of panic crossed Shen Meng’s face, but she quickly composed herself, putting on a sweet tone: “Darling, why are you here?”

Ye Feng fixed her with a stern gaze, having caught that fleeting moment of panic.

“Um, I came with Ye Feng. What about you?” Si Xu looked at his girlfriend in only a bathrobe, a bad feeling rising in his chest.

“Come in first, I’ll explain,” Shen Meng said, pulling Si Xu inside and shooting a glare at Ye Feng.

Shen Meng went into the bathroom, changed, and came out to sit beside Si Xu, tears brimming in her eyes. “It’s because my lease expired and I had nowhere to stay. I had no choice but to come here.”

“Why didn’t you tell me? You could’ve stayed at my place,” Si Xu said, putting his arm around her, clearly convinced by her explanation.

“So why are you two here? Don’t tell me you thought I was meeting another man. Don’t you trust me?”

“We’ve been together a year. I stayed with you when you were at your lowest, and now that your company’s doing well you want to toss me aside? If that’s the case, I might as well be dead.” Shen Meng burst into tears on the bed.

Her acting was truly masterful—she could have won an Oscar, a loss for the film industry if ever there was one.

Seeing her cry, Si Xu immediately stood, pulling her into his arms, his face full of concern. “Mengmeng, don’t say that. How could I ever leave you? I know you’re not that kind of woman.”

Ye Feng frowned, watching Shen Meng twist the facts so skillfully—she was truly at the height of deception. Poor Si Xu was completely wrapped around her finger.

If only he had arrived a moment sooner to catch her in the act; as it was, she had the chance to talk her way out of it.

“Then tell me, why are you here?” Si Xu asked, pulling away from her embrace.

“Ye Feng needed something, so I came with him. Mengmeng, don’t overthink it.” Si Xu chose to trust his good friend Ye Feng, never suspecting he’d brought him here to catch his girlfriend cheating—only arriving a bit too late.

“Fine! Keep defending him. Si Xu, I’m done with you!” Shen Meng declared, turning to leave and shooting Ye Feng a venomous glare as she passed.
