Chapter 129

As Yue Linglong finished speaking, Chu Tianhe stepped into the painfully small acupuncture clinic.
The clinic was not very large, perhaps fifty square meters at most. A few acupuncture chairs had been placed inside with little care, and the dim lighting gave the whole place a stifling air.
Clearly, after taking over the premises, Yue Linglong had not bothered to renovate it at all. She had merely added a few acupuncture chairs to make the place look the part and left it at that.
“Click!”
Just as Chu Tianhe frowned slightly, Yue Linglong raised her hand and tapped one of the wooden cabinets. A crisp sound rang out, and to his surprise, a hidden door appeared behind it.
“This is what you meant by there being more to it than meets the eye?” Chu Tianhe asked, glancing at Yue Linglong with a slight furrow between his brows.
“Exactly.” Yue Linglong nodded with a smile. “Brother Tian, you’ll understand once you take a look inside.”
As Chu Tianhe stepped through the hidden door, the scene before him suddenly opened up.
It turned out that after acquiring the storefront, Yue Linglong had also bought all the surrounding land. Then, in an extremely short time, she had mobilized the brothers of the Hall of Ten Thousand Gods to build a secluded garden estate here.
On the surface, it was nothing more than an inconspicuous acupuncture clinic—so ordinary that it could barely attract the attention of passersby. But once one passed through the hidden door, the view opened into a completely different world. Pavilions and towers, artificial hills, streams and pools—nothing was lacking. Every turn revealed a new vista, and compared with the famous gardens of Suzhou, it was no less exquisite, and perhaps even surpassed them.

“This garden is so exquisitely designed, and it even incorporates the Five Elements, the Eight Trigrams, and the arts of feng shui. This wasn’t your work, was it?”
Looking at the garden before him, Chu Tianhe turned toward Yue Linglong, raised one sharp eyebrow, and asked the question.
“Er...” Yue Linglong was momentarily taken aback. With an embarrassed smile, she replied, “Brother Tian, you really do know me. I couldn’t have managed such a meticulous design. It was Elder Ye’s work.”
“Elder Ye knew you would be staying in Jiangzhou City for quite some time, so he personally drew up the plans and had this garden built. He said you would certainly like it.”
The Elder Ye Yue Linglong referred to was naturally Ye Qingxuan, one of the Twin Gods of Shadow Moon in the Hall of Ten Thousand Gods, known by the title Shadow Martial Daoist. Although both his legs had been crippled, his strength was unfathomably deep. As one of the Hall of Ten Thousand Gods’ two divine guardians, even Yue Linglong had to greet him with the utmost respect and courtesy, offering the formal salutations due from a younger generation.
“Elder Ye has gone a little overboard. There was no need to make it so grand.”
Chu Tianhe smiled and shook his head. If there was anyone in the Hall of Ten Thousand Gods who understood him best, it was certainly Ye Qingxuan. After all, Ye Qingxuan had watched him grow up.
Though Chu Tianhe complained that Elder Ye had gone too far, he was deeply grateful in his heart. The old man always thought of everything before he did, and in Chu Tianhe’s eyes, Elder Ye was like his own grandfather, caring for him in every possible way.
“Is anyone there? If you’re open for business, why isn’t anyone here?”
Just as Chu Tianhe and Yue Linglong were strolling through the garden, a woman’s voice suddenly came from outside the acupuncture clinic. The two exchanged a swift glance, then flashed back into the clinic.

At the same time, the clinic’s front door was pushed open.
“You?”
When he saw who had arrived, Chu Tianhe could not help being slightly startled. He had never expected the visitor to be anyone other than the woman he had encountered in the bar the night before—Blue Phoenix.
“What? Surprised to see me?”
Blue Phoenix arched her willow-shaped brows slightly. As her beautiful eyes settled on Chu Tianhe, she also noticed Yue Linglong standing beside him. A hint of hostility immediately appeared in her gaze.
“So that’s why you weren’t interested in me. You already had a beauty of incomparable allure by your side.”
There was a distinctly sour note in Blue Phoenix’s voice, and every word was aimed directly at Yue Linglong.
“If you have something to say, then say it. If not, stop making a scene here.”
