Chapter 120
"If you're a real man, drink it up and show me what you're made of." Looking at the Spirit of Life in front of her, Blue Phoenix kept a faint smile on her lips. She arched her willow-leaf eyebrows, using a goading provocation to challenge Chu Tianhe.
"Fine. I'll treat this glass as your treat, but I'll pay for the rest myself." Chu Tianhe smiled slightly, picked up the Spirit of Life, and downed it in one gulp.
The ninety-six-percent-proof liquor caused an intense, stinging sensation the moment it hit his throat.
An ordinary person would have been sent into a fit of coughing after just a small sip, yet Chu Tianhe drank it as if it were nothing more than plain water.
The entire bar went silent in shock; even Blue Phoenix was stunned.
Her reputation for holding her liquor was well-earned. Since the day she opened this bar, she had never met anyone who could outdrink her. Yet, even she wouldn't dare drink it like that, nor had she ever seen anyone treat such potent spirits as water.
What was more, after finishing the glass, Chu Tianhe showed no reaction at all. His face remained calm, his heart rate steady—he clearly hadn't considered the strong liquor to be a challenge.
"Give... give him another one!" It was clear that Blue Phoenix was rattled by Chu Tianhe’s display of composure. She gestured for the bartender to pour another.
"That's right, bring him another!"
"I bet he's already drunk and just holding on for appearances!"
"He'll never make it through a second glass!"
"Except for Sister Blue, I've never seen anyone manage a second glass of the Spirit of Life!"
After their initial shock, the patrons in the bar began to clamor, shouting for Chu Tianhe to drink another.
They were unconvinced—deeply unconvinced.
After all, every regular in this bar had been defeated by Blue Phoenix at one point or another. To be blunt, not a single one of the people shouting could handle this ninety-six-proof spirit; most would collapse after a single glass, or even sooner.
Now that Chu Tianhe had downed it so easily, he had inadvertently bruised their egos.
However, just as the crowd was jeering and egging him on, Chu Tianhe smiled calmly and waved his hand at the bartender. "No need to serve it glass by glass. Just bring me two bottles."
Two bottles?
The audacity of those words brought an instant hush over the entire bar.
Even Blue Phoenix’s face showed genuine surprise. This liquor was always sold by the glass. Coming from a family of bar owners, Blue Phoenix had grown up in bars, and she had never in her life seen someone dare to drink this kind of spirit by the bottle.
"Sister Blue, this..." The bartender was frozen, looking toward Blue Phoenix with a troubled expression.
"Bring them to him!" Blue Phoenix was decisive. She slammed her hand on the table and declared, "I want to see for myself today just how much this handsome man can really handle!"
Her own competitive spirit was ignited; she was determined to see just how deep Chu Tianhe’s capacity for drink truly went.
