"Heh heh heh, what a fine 'dragon has its reverse scales'." Liu Yi's voice on the other end of the phone let out a spine-chilling, cold laugh, followed by, "Wu Dao, I am calling you because I, this young lady, think highly of you. Do you really take yourself for somebody important? I've said it before, it has always been me turning others down; no one has ever dared to reject me. You are the first!"

"Hah, my rejecting you is my own business, and you don't have the authority to make every man in the world revolve around you. Do you have anything else to say? If not, I'm hanging up!"

"I said, you will regret this!"

Too lazy to argue any further with this crazy woman, I pressed the end-call button. The exact moment I hung up, my phone rang again unexpectedly.

Thinking it was that crazy woman Liu Yi calling back, I pressed the answer button without a second thought and snapped, "Liu Yi, are you ever going to fucking stop?"

To my absolute surprise, the caller was not Liu Yi at all, but Bai Rushuo.

The moment the line connected, Bai Rushuo's anxious voice came through, "Wu Dao, get out of your dorm right away! You're in danger!"

Before I could process this, I instinctively replied, "Rushuo, what are you saying?"

Before I could finish, the door to our dormitory was suddenly kicked open with a loud bang, and three burly figures strode inside.

Leading them was a young man wearing sunglasses, around our age. He was dressed in casual beach shorts and a floral button-up shirt. Although this attire made him look much like a street punk, it carried a rather unique, striking aura when worn by him.

His frame didn't look bulky, but it was extremely solid. His face, while not conventionally handsome, exuded an intense wickedness. Right now, he was looking at me with a tilted smile and a strong air of ruffianism.

Flanking him on either side were two men wearing black stretch short-sleeved shirts and green military trousers. Their bodies were packed with explosive muscles, and an aura of lethal slaughter emanated from them. Men like this gave me two immediate impressions: either they were genuine soldiers who had been through real battlefields, or they were mercenaries who licked blood off the edge of a blade!

The moment the three of them stepped into the dorm, I felt an overwhelming wave of pressure. I subconsciously hung up Bai Rushuo's call, then, forcing myself to remain calm, asked the three intruders, "Who are you looking for?"

The three men didn't answer. The leading youth rummaged around in the pocket of his beach shorts for a moment, pulled out a photograph, slid his sunglasses down the bridge of his nose, and squinted at me as he asked, "Wu Dao?"

"Who are you?"

"That's the right one!"

With that, the youth casually tossed the photograph onto the computer desk in front of me. The person in the picture was none other than myself.

Without wasting any breath, the youth snapped his fingers and said straight to the point, "Take him!"

Having said that, he pushed his sunglasses back up the bridge of his nose and turned to walk out of the dorm. The two men behind him immediately strode toward me.

I instinctively took a step back, briefly contemplating whether to put up a fight. However, as the two men closed in and I saw their formidable muscles, I immediately abandoned any thoughts of resistance.

I wasn't a fool. While I possessed Daoist arts, these two were neither demons nor ghosts, and my spells would be completely useless against them. As for close-quarters combat, I couldn't even beat Emperor, and either of these guys could easily take down three Emperors at once. Naturally, I didn't dare to clash with them head-on and could only obediently submit.

Seeing that I was cooperative, the two men didn't make things difficult for me; they simply flanked my left and right.

Soon, I was led downstairs by the three of them. On our way down, the female dorm manager originally tried to stop us, seemingly wanting to ask why these three men were taking me away. But upon catching sight of their fierce and formidable appearance, the notoriously tough dorm manager wisely chose to turn into a shrinking turtle.

I mentally cast a deep look of contempt at the dorm manager, then followed the three of them out of the school.

Outside, I spotted an off-road vehicle with military license plates parked by the school gates. The youth took off his sunglasses and hung them on the chest of his shirt, jumping into the vehicle first. The two men beside me then pushed me into the back seat.

Once inside, my heart began to pound with anxiety. Initially, I suspected that Liu Yi had deliberately hired someone to teach me a lesson, but now, I began to seriously doubt their identities.

This vehicle bore red military plates—it was clearly from a military region. I simply could not believe that Liu Yi's connections extended far enough to mobilize personnel from the military district to come straight to campus and snatch me away.

Yet, looking at the youth driving ahead, who was around my age and possessed an extraordinary presence despite his ruffian attitude, I recalled the wealthy young scions Liu Yi usually hung out with around the Bashu region. It wasn't entirely impossible for her to have hooked up with some pampered young master hailing from a military compound.

At this thought, a sudden chill crept over my heart. To be honest, Liu Yi and I shared no deep hatred or enmity; merely because I turned her down, she resorted to treating me like this. Wasn't this woman a bit too vicious?

I let out a silent sigh. Had I known she was such a person, I wouldn't have bothered dragging her out of the old experimental building that night. What an ungrateful, venomous, and treacherous crazy woman.

"What are you daydreaming about, buddy? You haven't made a fuss, you haven't caused a scene, and you haven't even uttered a single word since getting into the car. You've really got some nerve!"

By now, the vehicle was already in motion. Unsure of where they were taking me—and perhaps finding the atmosphere too stifling—the youth in the driver's seat finally lost his patience.

To be honest, how could my heart not be in turmoil right now? I was actually scared out of my wits. But at least I was someone who had been through storms and tempests; having emerged unscathed from encounters with so many vicious ghosts and monsters, I wasn't about to start screaming and shouting wildly in a situation like this.

Seeing that I still remained silent, the youth grew somewhat displeased. He reached out and turned on the car's stereo, immediately filling the interior with deafening, chaotic heavy metal rock.

"Give him a taste of something!"

With that, the youth slammed his foot down on the accelerator. The vehicle roared forward like a wild stallion, instantly surging to a hundred and forty kilometers per hour amidst the dense city traffic.

Simultaneously, the man sitting to my right struck a heavy, unhesitating blow straight into my lower abdomen. He didn't use his full strength, but the punch was enough to instantly throw my lower abdomen into spasms, draining all the color from my face.

Clenching my teeth so hard that the veins on my forehead bulged, I managed to swallow back any sound.

Through the rearview mirror, the driving youth caught my expression, a strange, twisted grin curling the corners of his lips. He switched songs, and the man on my left followed suit, landing another punch right in the exact same spot on my stomach.

The blow landed squarely on the previous impact point. I felt my insides churn violently, and combined with the breakneck speed of the car, I felt an immediate urge to vomit.

"Don't let him dirty my car," the youth muttered offhandedly.

Instantly, the window to my right rolled down. The man sitting beside me grabbed my shoulder with lightning speed and hoisted me upward, shoving my entire head straight out of the window.

A car sped past in the opposite direction, grazing dangerously close to the strands of my hair. If this guy had pushed my head out just a fraction of an inch further, my head would have cleanly parted ways with my neck.

The howling wind outside battered fiercely against my cheeks, rippling the flesh on my face in rolling waves. The youth continued accelerating the vehicle relentlessly. On several occasions, my head nearly collided with passing obstacles outside, scaring the absolute soul out of my body.

After what felt like a dozen agonizing seconds, the man abruptly yanked me back inside the cabin. My stomach heaved violently once more, and foul contents surged up into my throat.

At that exact moment, the youth slammed hard on the brakes. My head lunged forward, crashing heavily against the back of the front seat. Just as I was about to retch, the youth suddenly turned his head back, flashing a ruffian smile as he said, "Buddy, don't say I didn't give you a chance. If you don't throw up, I won't hit you anymore right now. But if you dare to puke, I'll beat you to death!"
