Chapter 152: Causing a Small Stir at the Tycoon's Estate
Amidst the protests of the third young lady, Lin Yu offered a few more explanations before stepping out of the car and locking the BMW behind him. He then nonchalantly perched on the hood, lighting a cigarette.
The three young ladies, somewhat confused by the situation, whispered among themselves. Yet with Lin Yu right before their eyes, they felt reassured and were not afraid.
Before long, two young male security guards responsible for parking at the Grand Tycoon Nightclub approached the BMW briskly.
One of them, appearing more mature, respectfully asked, "Handsome sir, do you need any assistance?"
Lin Yu smiled and replied, "Yes, I’m here to find someone. Go find someone who speaks with authority. This matter needs to be reported." He then took a drag from his cigarette.
“Reported? Who are you looking for?” the guard in uniform asked, puzzled.
He suspected that if Lin Yu were searching for an ordinary person, he wouldn’t have used the word “reported.” Moreover, the young man had arrived in a BMW with a beautiful young woman in the passenger seat—someone who would stir certain thoughts in any man. Clearly, he was a typical second-generation rich kid, not to be underestimated and likely here to see someone important.
After the guard’s question, Lin Yu did not immediately answer. He leisurely exhaled a smoke ring and then fixed his gaze on the road, scanning for any vehicles tailing him.
After a while, across the street in front of a restaurant, he spotted the jeep.
A faint smile played on Lin Yu’s lips as he sat upright on the BMW hood and spoke slowly, “Brother, you’d better bring someone who can speak with authority to see me. The person I’m looking for is beyond your reach.”
“Who exactly are you looking for? Are you here to cause trouble? I’ll have you know, this place is under the protection of the Daxing Gang!” The younger guard, displeased by Lin Yu’s words, shot back sharply.
Feeling the sting of the retort, Lin Yu’s mood soured briefly. However, he thought quarreling with a lowly security guard was beneath him and might jeopardize his impromptu plan.
With a playful smile, he turned to the more mature guard and said, “Go ahead. I don’t want trouble, nor do I want to demean you. But the person I seek is definitely not someone you can meet.”
“All right! I’ll go find them. Brother, wait here a moment!” The mature guard pulled the younger one along as they hurried away.
As they headed toward the main entrance of the Grand Tycoon, the older guard whispered harshly, “If you act so impulsively again, you might as well pack up and go back to the countryside to be a farmer! No matter how strong the Daxing Gang is, it’s still just the Daxing Gang—not a single thing to do with a lowly guard like you! Remember, we’re nothing but the underlings, the lowest of the low!”
The younger guard grunted in response, though resentment flickered in his eyes.
“The mature one is a good guard; the hotheaded one is a promising candidate,” Lin Yu murmured with a smile, observing their reactions. Recent experiences had accelerated his maturity beyond the average man. He no longer saw things in simple terms.
While smoking and glancing back at the car, communicating silently with his classmate Qi Yue through sign language, a large group of people suddenly poured out of the Grand Tycoon Nightclub. Most were clad in black vests, exuding a formidable presence.
At the rear of the crowd stood a middle-aged man wearing a traditional long jacket. As he emerged, the well-dressed men in black vests naturally parted to create a path, allowing him to stride forward with unhurried yet commanding grace.
From his demeanor, Lin Yu immediately understood that this man wielded considerable influence, though his display was somewhat ostentatious and lacked the genuine aura of a true underworld hero.
It was clear this man was not Wu Laosan, the head of the Daxing Gang. Lin Yu made no move to curry favor, instead remaining seated on the BMW hood and saying, “My name is Lin Yu. Please help me summon your boss, Wu Laosan.”
The young man before him, clearly a spoiled heir who barely regarded Lin Yu, drew a scowl from Guan Fei, one of the eight hall leaders of the Daxing Gang. He barked, “Identify yourself!”
“Don’t waste my time. You’re not worthy to speak to me as an equal!” Lin Yu’s arrogance only grew after the reprimand.
“You little brat, you’re asking for a beating! Spit out your father’s identity quickly, or you might not see tomorrow’s sunrise.” Guan Fei felt the name Lin Yu was vaguely familiar but couldn’t place it, so he tried to extract information.
At his age and level, Guan Fei no longer acted impulsively like a reckless youth; whether for big or small matters, he schemed before acting.
But Lin Yu was unmoved. He exhaled an oval smoke ring and said casually, “Come closer. This is important; I’ll whisper it to you.”
“Damn! Who the hell do you think you are? Acting like you own the place! You must be tired of living!” The younger guard Wang Jian, unable to restrain himself, suddenly cursed loudly.
Lin Yu remained indifferent, but a cold frost overtook Guan Fei’s face as he snarled, “I’m speaking here! What business does a brat like you have? Drag him away for a beating. No rules for this kind of troublemaker!”
“Heh, Boss Guan, no need to get angry at a kid. Even if you beat me severely, it won’t affect me one bit. You’d better come talk business.” Lin Yu’s tone was calm, seeing through Guan Fei’s intent to make an example.
“I’m giving you one chance. If I’m not satisfied with what you say, you won’t be leaving the Grand Tycoon tonight!” Guan Fei said grimly before striding over.
As he reached close by, Lin Yu whispered in his ear, “I’m Lin Yu—the one who slapped Jia Quan a few days ago. I have important business with your boss. Go notify him.”
“Just you?”
Guan Fei stepped back, scrutinizing Lin Yu up and down with a cold sneer. “I heard Lin Yu once took on eight men at a government event alone. Let’s see if you really have the skill. If you can take down all four of my men, I’ll consider your request.”
With that, Guan Fei turned and casually summoned four men. “Have a spar with our young guest. Go easy on him.”
“Spar with them? I think I’ll start with you!”
As Guan Fei called his men forward, a faint, enigmatic smile curled on Lin Yu’s lips. Suddenly, like a startled hare, he leapt down, grabbed Guan Fei by the collar, and delivered a heavy slap across his face!
