"I know, you must have offended someone."
"Offended someone?"
These three words suddenly brought Zhao Fan a moment of clarity. If someone was jealous of his business and wanted to make a move, they would have done so long ago. Why wait until now?
It must be someone he had recently offended, someone who would use a roundabout way to retaliate. In essence, smashing up the supermarket was both revenge and a warning.
There was only one person capable of this: Bai Yongyuan from the Bai family.
Rubbing his brow, Zhao Fan said nothing.
Yang Yuqing coughed lightly. "Rou Rou, stop talking."
The girl called Rou Rou pouted. "I didn’t say much."
"All right, all right, you didn’t say much. Move over a bit."
"Okay."
Rou Rou obediently made room.
Watching the scene, Zhao Fan couldn’t help but smile a little. What an adorable girl.
"Hmph, you can call me cute, I’ll accept that, but you can’t call me a girl."
The sudden words made Zhao Fan realize he’d spoken his thoughts aloud. He felt a bit awkward, but also a little curious.
"Why can’t I call you a girl?"
Rou Rou patted her chest and said, "Have you ever seen an eighteen-year-old girl? I’m not a child, I’m an adult."
"You’re an adult?"
Zhao Fan looked her up and down, his gaze pausing at her chest before he coughed and quickly looked away.
He believed she was indeed an adult. He hadn’t noticed before, but now he realized she had quite a figure.
"Well, our supermarket won’t be open these next couple of days. You might have come for nothing."
Rou Rou tilted her head. "We didn’t come to shop this time."
She pursed her lips. "Besides, there’s nothing good here anyway. Even if we did shop, it would be pointless."
Zhao Fan: "…"
Well, she was indeed the daughter of a wealthy family. It was no wonder she wasn’t impressed with anything in the supermarket.
Yang Yuqing spoke up. "Rou Rou, watch your words. That was rather impolite."
Rou Rou lowered her head. "I know."
Zhao Fan couldn’t hide his amusement. This girl was truly entertaining.
"Sorry for making you laugh. Rou Rou can be a bit unruly, but she means no harm," Yang Yuqing said with a hint of helplessness. If it were anyone else, she wouldn’t have cared, but since it was Zhao Fan, she felt the need to clarify, just to prevent any misunderstanding.

Zhao Fan shook his head. "Don’t worry about it. I can see what kind of person she is; it’s fine."
She was just a straightforward girl, and there was nothing wrong with that. He wasn’t the type to hold grudges against someone so harmless.
After a few more words, Yang Yuqing signaled for Zhao Fan to step outside with her.
"I have something to ask you."
"All right."
The three of them left the supermarket. Yang Yuqing told Rou Rou to stand to the side, then lowered her voice. "Your supermarket being trashed is almost certainly the work of the Bai family. Bai Yu mentioned you to me yesterday, said the Bai family has plenty more tricks up their sleeve. Are you… prepared for this?"
Zhao Fan smiled faintly. "I’m really not afraid of the Bai family."
Once the enmity had been established, Zhao Fan had no intention of reconciling.
Neither he nor the Bai family had any interest in making peace.
Yang Yuqing frowned deeply. "That’s not a good thing."
"It’s not necessarily a bad one, either. Thanks for the warning, but don’t worry—I know what I’m doing."
"As long as you know."
Yang Yuqing pressed her lips together, saying no more.
Suddenly, Rou Rou looked up. "It’s starting to rain."
Rain?
Zhao Fan and Yang Yuqing looked up at the same time, feeling the cool drops on their faces. Both were briefly stunned—it really was raining.
After a brief pause, Zhao Fan quickly ushered Yang Yuqing and Rou Rou back into the supermarket. Almost immediately, the drizzle turned into a downpour, the sound of the rain loud and urgent as the ground grew wet within minutes.
"This rain is really coming down hard."
An employee at the door couldn’t help but comment on the situation outside.
Zhao Fan agreed; the rain was indeed sudden and fierce.
Rou Rou poked her head out. "Sister Yuqing, how will we get back in this downpour?"
Zhao Fan was surprised. "Didn’t your driver bring you?"
Every time he ran into Yang Yuqing before, she’d had a driver.
Rou Rou rolled her eyes. "We do have someone to drive us, but that doesn’t mean we have to use them. Walking is much more freeing."
Zhao Fan looked to Yang Yuqing and, seeing her nod, realized Rou Rou wasn’t wrong. He reflexively clenched his fist and coughed into it.
"I was mistaken. My apologies."
He admitted his error without hesitation.
Rou Rou huffed and found herself a chair to sit on.
"Sis, how long will the rain last?"

"I have no idea. That depends on when it feels like stopping."
"Sigh, finally got a chance to go out, and it’s pouring and the place is trashed—what a letdown."
Zhao Fan deliberately said, "Yes, such a letdown. Perhaps Miss Rou Rou should find another place?"
"Why should I?"
"Because you’re bored."
"Nonsense! My sister Yuqing hasn’t said anything. Who are you to tell me to leave?"
"All right, all right, I’ll say no more."
Zhao Fan smiled and stepped back a few paces, as if to show he was following her instructions.
After about half an hour, the rain stopped, and Yang Yuqing and Rou Rou left.
Zhao Fan watched them go, only turning back once their figures vanished.
The next morning, Chen Da brought ten people to help clean up. In a day, all the broken and ruined goods were cleared away.
That night, Zhao Fan and several employees worked late into the night sorting out the inventory lists.
Fortunately, when Zhao Fan had ordered the shelves, he’d chosen metal ones. Though the goods were ruined, the shelves remained intact. A quick wipe and they could be used again.
With the new day, Zhao Fan reorganized everything according to the original layout, and even added some new products.
By the third day, the supermarket was fully restored.
Standing at the entrance with Chen Da, Zhao Fan looked over the neat arrangement inside and felt a surge of satisfaction.
"We’ll reopen tomorrow," Zhao Fan declared.
Chen Da agreed, though he sounded worried. "Boss, what if someone causes trouble again tomorrow…?"
"What about the security guards I asked you to find?"
"I’m on it. There are plenty of applicants, but not many who can really fight."
Zhao Fan stroked his chin, hesitating. Maybe he should lower the requirements? After all, those who could fight might not want to be security guards.
"Boss? Boss?"
The sudden increase in volume roused Zhao Fan. "What is it?"
Chen Da pointed outside. "The ones who trashed the place before—they’re back."
"Oh?"
Zhao Fan turned around and saw that the once-empty street was now filled with more than a dozen burly, rough-looking men—clearly not the type one could deal with easily.
"So, you’re the owner of Feiteng Supermarket? Do you know who we are?"
