A Short Extra: The Legion Naming Assembly

On the spacious transport deck of the Imperial Truth, 2,201 transmigrators stood together, energetically debating the name of their legion.

“What do you think, Second Commander?” Wang Ming turned to Hu Jin, the second commander, who was clearly enjoying the spectacle before him, and asked for his opinion.

“Boss, I think ‘Blood Offering to the Emperor’ sounds pretty good,” Hu Jin replied. His voice wasn’t loud, yet every transmigrator present, equipped with Leman’s ears, heard him clearly.

Instantly, all discussions ceased. Every transmigrator turned to look at Hu Jin.

“Wait! I’ve bled for the Emperor, I’ve fought for the Empire! You can’t do this to me. I’m the second commander—I demand to see the Emperor! I want to see the boss!” Two transmigrators hoisted Hu Jin up and launched him out through the torpedo tube.

“I’m right here,” Wang Ming said dryly, watching the newly resurrected second commander before him.

He really was carefree, already having forgotten those thirteen psychic slaps the Emperor once gave him.

After this little interlude, the transmigrators resumed their lively debate.

“How about ‘Stellar Transmigrators’?” Suddenly, Wu Xuan, who was crouched nearby, spoke up.

His massive Dreadnought armor was squatting beside a Thunderhawk gunship. Wu Xuan had removed the helmet and was using two small mechanical arms attached to the Dreadnought’s neck to stuff a slice of watermelon into his mouth.

Wu Xuan’s suggestion immediately made the debate even more spirited.

In the end, after a vote tally of 2,200 to 1, the legion’s name was decided: Stellar Transmigrators.

Incidentally, that single dissenting vote belonged to Second Commander Hu Jin—he still hoped the legion would be called Blood Offering to the Emperor.

However, after the meeting, when Wang Ming happened to pass by Hu Jin’s quarters, he thought he heard the sound of thirteen slaps once again.
