“Yo, Yu Qian, I really didn’t expect this. You’ve actually taken up with a pretty boy?”

Liu Yan strolled over to Yu Qian and delivered the words in a mocking, sneering tone. She had noticed how fair-skinned and handsome Yang Fan was, barely out of his twenties, a classic young heartthrob.

“Liu Yan, mind your own mouth. This is my business—none of your concern to chime in.”

Yu Qian shot her a look, her eyes brimming with contempt. The two had nursed a grudge since their university days.

At the time, Yu Qian had been the undisputed beauty of the campus, the school flower of the first university, surrounded by a crowd of admirers. Liu Yan, meanwhile, had held a similar title, but compared to Yu Qian she had been far inferior. Jealousy of Yu Qian’s allure, combined with the sting of her own boyfriend’s pursuit of the latter, had fueled Liu Yan’s resentment. She had vented her frustration on Yu Qian whenever she could.

Over time, the enmity between them had grown deeper. Yet in Yu Qian’s eyes, Liu Yan was nothing but a petty, scheming woman whose opinion meant nothing.

“Listen, it’s my mouth. I decide what I say—you have no say in it.”

Liu Yan’s lips curled into a sneer. “I never thought the once-arrogant school flower would stoop to keeping a pretty boy to ease her loneliness.”

She knew Yu Qian was the president of the Yuanfu Catering Group and was therefore bound to be jealous. Compared with her, Liu Yan was vastly inferior.

“Darling, what are you doing here?”

A young gentleman approached Liu Yan, sliding an arm around her slender waist with a suggestive smile. His gaze landed on Yu Qian, and his eyes lit up with open admiration. He let out an inward sigh: What a beauty. If only I could spend one night with her…

“Nothing special,” Liu Yan replied with a mocking smile. “I just ran into an old university acquaintance, but I didn’t expect her to actually keep a pretty boy. It surprised me.”

“Such a gorgeous woman, keeping a pretty boy—it’s truly a waste,” Zhao Wei said, feigning astonishment. “If loneliness truly gets the better of you, I wouldn’t mind stepping in to relieve you.”

Yu Qian took in the two vile expressions before her and felt a surge of fury.

“I keep a pretty boy because I choose to,” Yu Qian retorted coldly. “I’m not like some people who have no talent whatsoever, only selling their bodies for money. When they grow old, they’ll end up abandoned by everyone.”

Her words struck Liu Yan like a whip, merciless and cutting.

Back in university she had already heard rumors that Liu Yan had been kept by a wealthy tycoon, and the story had spread through the campus.

“You bitch, do you really think I won’t slap you?” Liu Yan trembled with rage after her past was exposed and swung her hand to strike.

“Angry now?” Yu Qian answered with mocking laughter. “You and I have nothing in common—your looks are inferior to mine, otherwise your boyfriend wouldn’t have chased after me. As for ability, you’re even worse. You’re just selling your body.”

Liu Yan’s face flushed scarlet, her eyes blazing with fury. Facing Yu Qian’s sharp counterattack, she gained no ground at all. For a moment she stood speechless, too furious to speak.

And Yu Qian’s words were nothing but the truth.

Yang Fan, watching from the side, secretly admired Yu Qian’s boldness. She truly dared to speak her mind.

“Daring to curse my girlfriend right in front of me, as if I don’t exist?”

Zhao Wei shot Yu Qian a displeased glare, his tone cold.

Though he knew Liu Yan was a materialistic woman who treated relationships as mere games, publicly humiliating his girlfriend demanded a response.

“Hmph. She brought it on herself—why blame anyone else?” Yu Qian sneered.

With Yang Fan standing beside her, Yu Qian had nothing to fear from Zhao Wei. If violence was needed, she had no doubt her companion would not stand idly by.

“You bitch, I won’t let you off today!” Liu Yan’s patience snapped. She lunged forward to strike.

Yu Qian stepped back swiftly, pressing herself against Yang Fan’s side and clutching his wrist, staring fearlessly at Liu Yan.

Meeting the icy chill in Yang Fan’s eyes, Liu Yan halted, only glaring in silence.

“Help me package these two suits.”

Yu Qian grew weary of the argument and instructed the attendant to wrap the clothes.

“Wait. I want those two suits,” Zhao Wei interjected, stepping forward to the waiter.

The female attendant hesitated. “Sir, these two suits were already taken by this young lady first.”

“Fuck, call your manager!” Zhao Wei roared, his voice booming through the store and startling everyone inside.

A middle-aged man hurried over, flashing a servile smile the moment he saw Zhao Wei.

“Wei Shao, what’s got you so worked up?” the manager asked carefully.

He knew Zhao Wei’s background well and dared not offend him.

“The old man wants those two suits. Your people refused to sell them to me. You decide.”

Zhao Wei pointed at the clothes in the attendant’s hands, his tone dripping with arrogance.

The manager quickly plastered on a smile, then turned to the attendant and snapped, “What are you doing? Wei Shao likes something, pack it up at once. Offending Wei Shao—can you handle it?”

The attendant looked wronged. “These two suits were already taken by this young lady first.”

“Wei Shao is our store’s supreme member,” the manager declared. “Whatever he wants, we package immediately. No need for empty talk.”

As a mere store manager, he could not afford to anger a supreme member. If Zhao Wei lost his temper, the manager’s days would be numbered.

“If you want to fight me, you’ll have to do it in the next life,” Zhao Wei said with smug satisfaction, glancing at Yu Qian. As a supreme member, he carried himself with unmistakable confidence.

“Darling, you’re amazing.” Liu Yan beamed with seductive charm, stepping to Zhao Wei’s side and kissing his cheek.

“Heh heh, then tonight you’ll have to properly satisfy me,” Zhao Wei replied, reaching out to squeeze Liu Yan’s backside roughly. His expression was lewd.

“You bastard, your performance was excellent. Tonight I’ll make sure to satisfy you properly,” Liu Yan cooed, her voice dripping with sensuality.

Watching the two men and women strut about in triumph, Yu Qian felt nothing but disgust.

“Is this how you run a business?” she demanded of the manager, her voice seething. “There’s always a first come, first served. I saw the clothes first, so naturally they belong to me.”

The manager ignored her fury and sneered instead. “Can you compare to Wei Shao? He is our store’s supreme member and therefore receives priority treatment. I’ll sell these suits to him.”

Zhao Wei was delighted with the manager’s behavior.

Enraged, Yu Qian’s body trembled slightly, her inner fury boiling.

“These two suits are mine,” Yang Fan stated firmly, his tone leaving no room for doubt.

“Cut. Do you think you’re the manager?” Zhao Wei sneered.

“A pretty boy who relies on a woman to eat—what talent do you have?” Liu Yan mocked.

Slap! Slap!

Before the words had even finished, two resounding slaps landed on their faces. Yang Fan had moved with blinding speed, leaving everyone stunned and speechless.
