Chapter 94: Buying Clothes
"Mr. Yang, might I ask how old your disciple is?" Chen Yanggong inquired.
After all, the International Martial Artist Competition had age restrictions for participants. If one exceeded the age limit, they wouldn't be allowed to compete. And Yang Fan's youth happened to fit the requirements perfectly.
"Does this martial artist competition have an age limit?" Yang Fan asked, puzzled.
"Yes, every martial artist participating in the competition must not exceed thirty years of age," Chen Yanggong said with a nod.
Upon learning that the limit was thirty, Yang Fan simply smiled. "Don't worry, my disciple definitely won't exceed thirty. At most, he's around twenty-four or twenty-five."
"That's good to hear. I hope your disciple can win some honor for us Yanhuang martial artists and show those arrogant bastards that we Yanhuang have never lacked talent," Chen Yanggong said, his voice brimming with emotion.
"Has it never been won before?" Yang Fan asked.
"Ah, we've won in the past, but in recent years, every martial artist competition, we Yanhuang have lost, and been mocked for it too. It weighs heavy on the heart," Chen Yanggong sighed. "If Mr. Yang were to compete in person, then this competition would surely be ours."
An Innate Realm master participating in such a competition would undoubtedly shock everyone present.
Unfortunately, Yang Fan wouldn't be competing himself. Instead, his disciple would take the stage.
"Rest assured, my disciple's strength is nothing to scoff at. He won't bring shame to Yanhuang when the time comes," Yang Fan said with confidence. "If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave now."
"Please, go safely, Mr. Yang," Chen Yanggong nodded, then personally escorted Yang Fan out.
Once Yang Fan had left, the members of the Chen family began murmuring among themselves.
"Father, is Yang Fan truly an Innate Realm master?" Chen Tianren asked, still finding it hard to believe.
An Innate Realm master in his early twenties—there wasn't a second one to be found anywhere in the world.
The Chen family had thoroughly investigated Yang Fan's background. They knew he was a castoff of the Yang family, not yet twenty-one years old.
"Were you all blind that day?" Chen Yanggong chided lightly. "The aura he released that day was a technique only an Innate Realm master could possess."
As a martial artist himself, Chen Yanggong had connections with many high-ranking figures and had personally witnessed Innate Realm masters in action. He was certain Yang Fan was one.
Since Chen Yanggong was so adamant, no one in the Chen family dared doubt it further.
After leaving the Chen residence, Yang Fan made a phone call to have Wang Gang come over.
He still had a bottle of refined medicine on hand, intending to give it to Wang Gang. Wang Gang was currently on the verge of breaking through the early Qi Refining stage. If he consumed this medicine and cultivated diligently for a while longer, he would break through.
"Master, you called for me?" Wang Gang arrived at Yu Qian's villa.
Yang Fan took out the refined medicine and handed it to Wang Gang, instructing him, "This is a bottle of spiritual medicine. Once you drink it, it will aid your cultivation. In time, with continued practice, you'll break through to the Qi Refining realm."
Learning that this bottle could accelerate his breakthrough to the Qi Refining realm, Wang Gang's heart surged with excitement. His hands trembled as he accepted the medicine.
"Thank you, Master," Wang Gang knelt and expressed his gratitude.
This was a great kindness. Wang Gang silently swore to himself that he would repay Yang Fan one day.
"There's still a month until the International Martial Artist Competition. During this time, cultivate diligently, and when the time comes, go register to participate," Yang Fan instructed. "If you take first place, you'll receive a prize of a hundred million."
"Rest assured, Master. Wang Gang will give it his all and never disappoint your expectations," Wang Gang declared resolutely.
Wang Gang had heard about this International Martial Artist Competition from his instructors back when he was in the military. Those who could participate in this competition were the cream of the crop among the younger generation of martial artists from every nation.
Ever since he began cultivating under Yang Fan, Wang Gang's strength had grown by leaps and bounds. This International Martial Artist Exchange was the perfect opportunity for him to let loose and show what he could do.
And as a former soldier, the belief in winning glory for his country ran deep in his bones. So this time, participating in the International Martial Artist Competition, he would bring honor to his nation.
"Go back and cultivate for now," Yang Fan waved his hand, signaling Wang Gang to take his leave.
Wang Gang left respectfully, returning to his residence with an excited heart before beginning his cultivation.
On Thursday, Yu Qian managed to carve out some time and returned to go shopping for clothes with Yang Fan. It was because they were attending a cocktail party on Friday, so Yang Fan needed to dress properly.
"Where are we going to buy clothes?" Yang Fan asked Yu Qian as he walked out of his room.
"Just come along with me," Yu Qian replied with a smile.
Shrugging, Yang Fan didn't say anything more.
After getting in the car, Yu Qian brought Yang Fan to a brand-name boutique in Jiangcheng City to shop for a suit.
This clothing boutique was extremely famous in Jiangcheng. The people who came here to buy clothes were wealthy tycoons and big celebrities.
As the two of them walked in, a saleswoman approached them.
"Welcome. I'm happy to serve you," the saleswoman greeted politely.
Yu Qian looked around for a moment but didn't find what she wanted, so she asked, "Where is the men's suit section?"
"Right this way, please follow me," the saleswoman said with a gentle smile, leading Yu Qian over.
Yang Fan and Yu Qian arrived at the suit area.
"Stand still. Let me pick out some clothes for you. I'm an expert at this sort of thing," Yu Qian said smugly.
Yang Fan shrugged and followed behind her, watching as she selected outfits.
After browsing, Yu Qian picked out two suits that suited Yang Fan and handed them to him to try on.
"Go try them on in there, then come out and let me have a look," Yu Qian said, handing the two suits to Yang Fan.
Taking the suits, Yang Fan went into the fitting room. Not long after, he emerged.
The moment she saw Yang Fan, Yu Qian's eyes lit up, and her heart suddenly fluttered with a hint of excitement.
Before her stood Yang Fan in a white suit, his tall, straight figure complemented by a face handsome enough to charm countless young women—he looked like a dashing prince charming.
"Don't space out on me. How does this suit look?" Yang Fan called out, noticing Yu Qian was a little distracted.
"Ah, oh." Yu Qian snapped back to reality, a little embarrassed.
"Not bad, not bad. I never expected you to look so handsome in a suit," Yu Qian said with a smile, a faint blush coloring her cheeks.
"Then this one it is," Yang Fan said.
"Wait, try on the black one too," Yu Qian said, looking at Yang Fan with eager anticipation.
Yang Fan said nothing and went back in to change into the black suit.
When she saw Yang Fan in the black suit, Yu Qian wore a slightly smitten expression.
Yang Fan in a black suit looked cool and strikingly handsome, exuding the aura of an overbearing CEO. Paired with his slightly indifferent expression, it was an absolutely perfect match.
For a moment, Yu Qian was utterly captivated.
Even the saleswoman beside them couldn't help stealing a couple of glances at Yang Fan, her cheeks flushing pink.
"Oh, if it isn't Yu Qian. What a coincidence."
Just then, a woman's voice rang out from behind Yu Qian, her tone dripping with snideness.
Yu Qian turned around and saw a familiar face.
The newcomer was a young woman, stylishly dressed and heavily made-up.
Her name was Liu Yan, Yu Qian's college classmate.
Only, the two of them had never gotten along well.
So at the sight of Liu Yan, Yu Qian's expression soured.
