Chapter 112: The Unyielding Lu Yuxi
Lu Yuxi and Zhang Meng followed the young man into a taxi, which then drove toward the outskirts of Jiangcheng. Realizing that the taxi was leaving the city, Lu Yuxi grew wary.
"Where are you taking us?" she asked the young man. Zhang Meng also seemed to sense that something was wrong, her heart suddenly tightening with anxiety as she wondered what the young man’s true intentions were.
"Rest assured, I won't do anything to you, as long as you cooperate obediently," the young man replied indifferently.
"What exactly do you want?" Lu Yuxi asked, her expression tense.
"Aren't you looking to see Yang Fan?" The young man looked back at her and said, "We are taking you there precisely to lure him out."
Hearing this, Lu Yuxi’s brow furrowed; she suspected they intended to cause trouble for Yang Fan. "I don't want to see him now, let us go immediately!" she insisted, panic rising in her voice. The thought that they were targeting Yang Fan filled her with worry. She didn't know why they wanted him, but she felt certain it boded ill.
"Don't be naive. Since you've gotten into the car, don't think about leaving," the young man said coldly. "If you don't want anything bad to happen, it’s best not to resist. Even if you do, it will be in vain."
Zhang Meng clutched Lu Yuxi’s arm tightly, terrified. "Cousin, what do we do now?" She was frightened, not knowing what fate awaited them. Being two young women abducted by a strange man, they couldn't help but fear the worst.
"What do you want with Yang Fan? Are you going to kill him?" Lu Yuxi demanded.
"Heh, if he doesn't know what's good for him, we will naturally kill him," the young man sneered. "If he cooperates, perhaps we won't." Despite his words, his true thoughts were different. Yang Fan had killed an elder and two disciples of the Seven Kill Sect, offending them beyond repair. His only possible fate was death. Bringing Lu Yuxi here was merely a trap to draw him out.
"I have already divorced him; we have no relationship anymore," Lu Yuxi stated.
"Hmph, we have already made inquiries, and you haven't truly divorced him at all," the young man retorted. "You’d better pray he comes, or neither of you will have a good ending."
Lu Yuxi’s expression turned bitter. She felt a mix of longing to see Yang Fan and a desperate hope that he would stay away, fearing for his life. Looking out the window, a look of resolve crossed her eyes. "I won't let you succeed." As the words left her lips, she slammed her head against the car window.
"Cousin, no!" Zhang Meng screamed as she realized what Lu Yuxi was attempting.
*Crash.*
The window shattered under the impact of Lu Yuxi’s head. The young man was too late to stop her. Lu Yuxi’s forehead gushed with blood, and she fell unconscious.
"Quick, save her!" The young man ordered the driver to stop and immediately began emergency measures.
"You bastards!" Zhang Meng cried, cursing at the young man.
"Shut up! If you don't want her to die, be quiet," the young man snapped. Startled, Zhang Meng covered her mouth, watching Lu Yuxi with worried eyes.
The young man examined Lu Yuxi, noting the gash on her forehead. He tore a piece of his clothing to bandage the wound and stop the bleeding. The sect master had explicitly ordered that she must not die; she was useless otherwise. Fortunately, she was only unconscious and not in immediate danger of death. Once bandaged, he put her back in the car and ordered the driver to proceed at full speed. As long as she reached the sect master, her life would be spared. He hadn't expected her to be so fierce.
Half an hour later, the car stopped at a factory. The young man carried Lu Yuxi inside.
"What is the meaning of this?" Zhou Lizhong frowned as he saw the blood-covered woman.
"Sect Master, she tried to commit suicide, but fortunately, she only fainted," the young man replied quickly.
Zhang Meng, terrified by the sight of these men, summoned her courage to ask, "What are you trying to do?"
"Lock her up somewhere," Zhou Lizhong said, not bothering to engage with Zhang Meng. He took out a vial of medicine and forced Lu Yuxi to drink it. He was counting on using her to blackmail Yang Fan; if she died, the plan would be ruined. After taking the medicine, Lu Yuxi’s complexion improved slightly.
Zhou Lizhong pulled out his phone and made a call. Yang Fan, who was meditating at Yu Qian’s villa, answered.
"Hello?"
"Yang Fan, isn't it? Lu Yuxi is in my hands. If you want to save her, bring the spirit stones to exchange for her," Zhou Lizhong said coldly.
Hearing that Lu Yuxi had been captured, Yang Fan’s brow furrowed. The demand for spirit stones reminded him of Li Changgong, whom he had killed earlier.
"Want spirit stones? There are none," Yang Fan sneered. "As for her, do whatever you want." The spirit stones had already been fully absorbed by Yang Fan, leaving nothing behind. As for rescuing Lu Yuxi, he had no intention of risking his life. After all, they were divorced, and they had no ties left.
"Are you truly so heartless?" Zhou Lizhong was surprised by the answer. "Are you willing to let her be defiled and die?"
"I am divorced from her; we have no relationship. Do you think I would throw my life away for her?" Yang Fan replied flatly.
"Heh, that may be what you think, but she certainly doesn't feel the same," Zhou Lizhong chuckled. "She chose to commit suicide just to keep you from coming. Too bad it wasn't successful."
Hearing that she had attempted suicide, Yang Fan’s brow tightened, unsure if the man was telling the truth. "Why should I believe you?"
"Wait, I'll send you a video," Zhou Lizhong said, ending the call. He recorded a short video of Lu Yuxi’s current state and sent it to Yang Fan. Upon receiving it, Yang Fan saw Lu Yuxi unconscious, her forehead bandaged and stained with blood.
"Yang Fan, please, come save my cousin! I beg you!" Zhang Meng’s voice cried out from the recording.
Hearing Zhang Meng, Yang Fan realized she had been captured as well. "Give me the location. I will have someone deliver the spirit stones to you," Yang Fan said coldly.
"Don't you want to come yourself?" Zhou Lizhong asked.
"Hmph, I won't throw my life away. You want the spirit stones, you can have them, but don't even think about me coming there," Yang Fan replied firmly.
"Fine, I'll send you the address," Zhou Lizhong finally compromised. What he truly needed were the spirit stones. He wanted to kill Yang Fan, but if the man wouldn't take the bait, there was nothing he could do.
After receiving the address, Yang Fan called Wang Gang to meet him. Once Wang Gang arrived, Yang Fan gave him a medicinal pill. Upon learning that it would allow him to reach the Xiantian realm, Wang Gang did not hesitate and swallowed it immediately. Yang Fan had already decided to go rescue them, with Wang Gang by his side.
