Chapter Seventy-Four: Farewell, I Won’t See You Off!
Shi Yan stood at the end of the alley, his heart clear as a mirror, his entire body radiating a murderous aura that seemed to pierce the heavens. Yet his gaze was somewhat vacant, as if dulled by something unseen.
Three domains, each as large as a millstone, hovered invisibly around him—two at his sides and one behind. These “Magnetic Execution Fields” could neither be seen nor sensed by anyone except himself. Streams of negative energy erupted from his acupoints, flooding his body. His once robust frame was now noticeably thinner.
This was the first time Shi Yan had fully unleashed his “Rampage.” The greatest change was the sharpened spiritual perception that seemed capable of seeing through all things, and a chillingly absolute rationality.
Li Han quietly furrowed his brows as he looked at Shi Yan, feeling a strange familiarity. Yet, no matter how he searched his memory, he could not recall where this feeling came from.
On Mo Qi’s arms, lightning as thick as fingers had been fully condensed, and his expression grew increasingly twisted and fierce.
“Uncle Li!” Mo Qi shouted hoarsely.
Li Han’s face turned cold, his body cracking and popping, his joints echoing like waves crashing against the shore, exuding an endless momentum.
A surge of white light rippled from Li Han’s body, rolling outward in waves. With each gesture in the air, Li Han manipulated the white light, causing it to surge like a stormy sea, rushing fiercely toward Shi Yan.
“Sea Cloud Surge!” Li Han intoned solemnly, standing in place.
Between him and Shi Yan, the surging waves layered upon each other, forming a raging river as if conjured from thin air. The immense force of the waters, under his control, threatened to drown Shi Yan completely.
Mo Qi let out a furious cry, the lightning entwined around his arms transforming into spirit snakes, their tongues flickering as they slithered above the waves, lunging at Shi Yan in arcs of electric light.
Shi Yan’s heart remained as calm as a still ancient well, unmoved by the two men’s combined onslaught.
When Li Han’s refined energy waves were only five meters away, Shi Yan suddenly retreated three steps, stepping into the “Magnetic Execution Fields” he had prepared earlier.
The two domains to his left and right, under his mental command, drifted forward several meters and then abruptly closed in!
With a series of strange sounds, the attacks—Li Han’s “Sea Cloud Surge” and Mo Qi’s lightning spirit snakes—collided directly at the merged center of the two domains.
The refined energy, forged by special martial techniques into surging waves, was bizarrely dissolved into a faint mist within the domain. The energy seemed to be broken down into its most primal form, slowly dispersing into the world.
The lightning spirit snakes, drawn into the field’s vortex, became entangled, spinning endlessly in that confined space, unable to break free from the domain’s restraint.
To Li Han and Mo Qi, their attacks appeared to suddenly undergo a mysterious transformation in midair, unable to advance further, an uncanny phenomenon that left them both stunned and at a loss.
Shi Yan’s intent to kill was unwavering. Once he saw the domain could block their attacks completely, he willed it forward.
The domain that had intercepted their attacks now advanced, causing the spinning electric snakes to surge rapidly toward Li Han and Mo Qi!
Li Han’s expression changed dramatically as he realized Shi Yan was manipulating things from the shadows. He quickly switched martial techniques, drawing a silver-white sword from his waist.
As soon as the sword touched his palm, it was suffused with a peculiar color, turning a pale violet. Fine purple patterns appeared along the blade.
With a deft flick of his wrist, the sword blazed with violet light, unleashing a three-meter-long beam from its tip.
Li Han’s face was grim as he let out a low cry, raising the sword and slashing downward.
The sword beam and blade struck the domain directly—but it remained unchanged. Mo Qi’s lightning continued to rain down, landing squarely on Li Han.
Li Han cried out in pain and staggered backward.
Shi Yan suddenly moved!
Like a javelin thrown with deadly intent, he shot straight toward Mo Qi.
Mo Qi’s face paled and he retreated in terror.
“Mo Qi!” Shi Yan shouted mid-stride.
Mo Qi instinctively looked at Shi Yan.
From Shi Yan’s eyes emerged a boundless sea of blood, from which countless fierce ghosts seemed to fly forth. These ghosts, blood-soaked with gaping wounds where their hearts should be, rushed furiously toward Mo Qi.
Mo Qi was stunned, frozen at this crucial moment.
Shi Yan’s left hand, fingers together like blades, plunged straight into Mo Qi’s chest, piercing his heart. His fingers burst out through Mo Qi’s back.
Mo Qi convulsed, the pain snapping him back to clarity.
“Mo Zhan is still waiting for you on the road to the underworld. Farewell.” Shi Yan gazed at him without emotion, withdrawing his hand from Mo Qi’s chest.
Blood erupted like a breached river from the gaping wound, but Shi Yan had already stepped aside.
Mo Qi’s life ended in an instant; he fell backward, blood still pouring from his chest.
“Young Master Qi!” Li Han, numb from the lightning, cried out in horror, unable to believe Shi Yan had killed Mo Qi so quickly.
“Don’t call out. He will be waiting for you as well.” Shi Yan turned, raising his blood-stained left hand toward Li Han. “This is the blood from Mo Qi’s heart. Do you want to know how it tastes?”
Li Han’s face contorted with fear. “Shi Yan, you’re courting death! You’re only at the Innate Realm—you’re no match for me!”
“You emphasize my cultivation to bolster your own courage? It’s useless. Today, I’ll use you to cross the threshold into the Human Rank Realm!”
With a thought, Shi Yan enveloped Li Han in the “Magnetic Execution Field” that had silently moved beside him.
In an instant, Li Han felt as if he were caught in a vortex deep beneath the sea, his body moving uncontrollably with the swirling force. Even his energy began to slip beyond his control.
“At the Stone Forest, I wanted to kill you, but you released the Blue Smoke Bomb too soon.” Shi Yan approached step by step, the white mist swirling around him condensing into a ribbon that flew ahead, pouring into the domain.
The mist entered the vortex, and with its rapid spin, it was driven into Li Han’s body.
“You—you are Ding Yan! You’re Ding Yan!!” Li Han’s face changed drastically, and he screamed.
“The Mo family struck first. You can’t blame me for being ruthless.” Shi Yan crashed into the domain’s center, pressing close to Li Han, his fingers like blades stabbing at Li Han’s throat.
A sharp crack echoed from Li Han’s neck; terror flooded his face as he died, unwilling and afraid.
The domain vanished suddenly.
The negative energies of terror, despair, and unwillingness from Li Han and Mo Qi surged into Shi Yan’s acupoints.
A minute later, both corpses were shriveled husks, their energy completely gone.
Shi Yan took a deep breath to steady himself, listened carefully, and found only silence.
Gripping Li Han in one hand and Mo Qi in the other, Shi Yan ran swiftly through the alley, a phantom shadow darting through the darkness.
Ten minutes later.
Shi Yan arrived at Emerald Moon Lake, in a quiet, deserted area. He threw the bodies into the water, watching as they slowly sank beneath the surface.
The deaths of Li Han and Mo Qi were too obvious; to prevent anyone from discovering the truth, he had to dispose of the bodies thoroughly.
In this sensitive time, he could not reveal his identity.
The Northern Dark family was still searching for him.
To guard against them, he had to remain hidden. Only in the shadows could he act freely.
As Shi Yan was lost in thought, suddenly, from the center of Emerald Moon Lake, an exquisitely beautiful face emerged.
It was a visage of stunning beauty, her bearing regal, elegant, and otherworldly—a goddess descending upon the lake.
She wore black gauze that clung tightly to her flawless figure, revealing every alluring curve. Her graceful body rose bit by bit from the water, like the moon itself appearing in the world.
She floated up from the lake, and when fully emerged, she walked atop the water, brows gently furrowed, moving with dignified elegance toward the shore.
Shi Yan stared, utterly entranced; it was the first time he had truly been captivated by a woman’s beauty.
Her figure, bearing, and appearance all surpassed Mu Yudie by a clear margin.
A mysterious woman!
As she neared the shore, Shi Yan suddenly realized who she was.
The Heaven Rank expert who hovered above the Martial Arena!
