Chapter 150: Fierce Battle Beneath the Sea (Fourth Update! Please Vote!!)
At dawn, the small boat sailed into a mist-shrouded area where a faint fog lingered over the sea’s surface. Linda and the others aboard grew pale with dread; even several warriors at the Innate Realm showed fear for the first time.
Behind the boat, more than sixty Azure Scale Beasts had gathered, including four of the fourth level among them. Facing these beasts in clear waters was already an immense challenge; now, with the boat drifting into the fog, defending against their attack would be even more daunting.
Azure Scale Beasts lived beneath the sea, where no fog could reach. Thus, these creatures were unaffected by the mist. What they feared had now come to pass.
As Linda and her group trembled with fear, the Azure Scale Beasts clustered about a hundred meters behind the boat suddenly accelerated. One by one, they darted through the water like lethal arrows, swiftly closing in.
“Watch out!” Linda screamed. “There are fourth-level Azure Scale Beasts—under no circumstances jump into the water! Find a way to drive them off the surface!”
Her shout rang hollow. Fourth-level Azure Scale Beasts were tremendously dangerous in the sea; even if she entered the water, she stood no chance against them.
Moreover, these beasts had begun to display cunning. As long as they did not surface and first pierced the boat’s hull, the vessel would remain intact. But once the boat was breached and sunk, anyone who entered the water would surely perish. Linda could do nothing to prevent the beasts from attacking the boat first; her cries were inevitably powerless.
Stone Yan frowned deeply, sighing quietly. He knew that the fate of those aboard this small vessel was grim. Sure enough, the Azure Scale Beasts closed in, surrounding the boat without a single one breaking the surface. With the presence of the fourth-level beasts, the others had grown wise; they did not recklessly attack but instead circled the boat, as if silently awaiting something.
“Crack! Crack! Crack!” came the chilling sound from beneath the boat’s hull. The faces of those on deck turned deathly pale.
The fourth-level Azure Scale Beasts had begun gnawing at the planks.
If the hull were breached, the boat would sink, and the sea would become the beasts’ domain. Once submerged, no one could escape their razor-sharp jaws.
Linda’s delicate face changed, her beautiful eyes filled with despair. Yet she shouted stubbornly, “Stay close to the deck! Attack the Azure Scale Beasts in the water! No one is allowed to give up!”
“Understood!”
“Sister Linda, we believe in you!”
“Damn it! Even if we die, we’ll take down most of those third-level beasts!”
One by one, the crew gritted their teeth and rushed to the deck’s edge, launching attacks on the surrounding Azure Scale Beasts. Various strange lights pierced the water, striking the blue scales of the creatures.
Several beasts came too close to the surface and were struck by the gleaming blades of Linda’s short swords, flipping over with their white bellies exposed—killed outright by her fierce assault.
However, the attacks from the others were not so effective. Most of the wounded beasts merely retreated deeper into the sea, vanishing beyond ten meters below the surface, where water nullified all attacks and left them unharmed.
One by one, the Azure Scale Beasts sank beneath the waves. Splashes erupted on the surface, but none were injured further. The beasts lingered below, fiercely watching those on deck.
Linda’s despair deepened.
Without the beasts surfacing, they had no way to counterattack. Meanwhile, the hull was still being chewed by the fourth-level Azure Scale Beasts. Once the boat was breached, their doom would be inevitable.
Stone Yan rose from the heap of supplies, quietly stepping onto the deck. With a grave expression, he stared at the beasts beneath the water. If the beasts refused to surface, the warriors aboard could not be killed, no negative energy would be injected into his acupoints, and without that energy, he could not form his Magnetic Domain Field.
Stone Yan’s face darkened as he looked coldly at Kamon and his group, murderous intent stirring within him. Only death could break this deadlock—and it had to come quickly. Otherwise, once the boat was pierced, death would come regardless, and no change would be possible.
Stone Yan was ready to kill.
“Into the sea! Rather than wait to die, we might as well fight the Azure Scale Beasts in the water! Since the boat will be destroyed anyway, we might as well battle before it sinks,” Linda said, her face filled with desperation as she made the reluctant decision.
Engaging the Azure Scale Beasts in the ocean was an unwise choice—Linda understood this better than anyone. But there was no other option; they had to take that risk.
“Alright!”
The warriors aboard gritted their teeth, and in their despair, a fierce determination flared within them. Without waiting for Linda to say more, three plunged into the water. Kamon hesitated briefly before biting his lip and following.
“Give it everything!”
Linda cried out, preparing to jump in as well. Stone Yan approached, frowning at her but hesitating to speak.
Though Linda appeared resolute, she knew stepping into the sea was certain death. She paused, staring blankly at Stone Yan, as if waiting for something.
But Stone Yan did nothing—only shook his head with a sigh. Linda’s expression turned sorrowful, her last hope extinguished. Without hesitation, she dove into the sea, joining the other warriors in fierce combat with the Azure Scale Beasts.
She truly wished Stone Yan was a master who could lend aid in this critical moment. Her final hope rested on him but was met only with his silent shake of the head.
With that hope shattered, Linda abandoned all illusions of fortune. She embraced death alongside her crew, plunging into the ocean.
Stone Yan’s expression was complex as he stared at the now-empty boat. After a moment of hesitation, he too suddenly dived into the water.
The last glance Linda cast toward him was filled with despair and sorrow, but she still threw herself into the sea without hesitation. This resolve deeply moved Stone Yan, awakening his sympathy for the strong-willed young woman.
Whether for Linda or himself, Stone Yan knew he had to act.
With a deep breath, he plunged beneath the waves, his gaze cold and unyielding.
A torrent of despair and resentment—the negative energies—suddenly surged from the water, flowing into his acupoints.
One warrior close to Kamon was the first to be torn apart by a fourth-level Azure Scale Beast, becoming the first to fall in the depths.
As Linda and the others hit the water, the fourth-level beasts ceased their gnawing on the boat and swarmed to encircle the group. The boat was no longer their target; their goal in piercing the hull had been to force Linda’s party into the sea. Now that they were in the water, the beasts wasted no more time on the boat, immediately surrounding them.
Underwater, the Azure Scale Beasts moved like swift shuttles, their speed formidable.
The threat posed by third-level Azure Scale Beasts in the water was far greater than on land.
Kamon and the others, now at the Human Position Realm, found their strength greatly diminished in the sea and could barely hold their own against the third-level beasts.
Yet in the water lurked four fourth-level Azure Scale Beasts.
Their presence was like four immovable mountains—impossible to overcome.
“Ah!” Another agonized scream sounded as a first-level Human Position Realm warrior beside Kamon charged madly into the Azure Scale Beasts. Five third-level beasts latched onto him, shattering his limbs and killing him—the second to fall.
After his death, his vital energy was quietly absorbed by Stone Yan.
Within his acupoints, the vital energy from these two warriors spread out, releasing some negative energy. Though limited, it was sufficient for Stone Yan to form a Magnetic Domain Field.
With a thought, Stone Yan condensed his essence and negative energy underwater, creating a magnetic domain roughly the size of a millstone. Ordinarily invisible, the domain took the form of a spinning tornado amid the sea—a moving whirlpool beneath the waves.
“Shh!” Linda wielded two short swords, her slender form weaving like a water serpent. She slaughtered several third-level Azure Scale Beasts charging at her.
One fourth-level beast immediately focused on her, rushing forward.
“Fwoosh!” Linda unleashed her “Twin Serpents Slash,” sending sharp sword energies streaking toward the beast.
But the fourth-level beast’s scales were far tougher than those of third-level ones. Linda’s fierce sword energies could pierce third-level scales but only left deep scratches on the fourth-level’s armor.
Another fourth-level Azure Scale Beast stealthily lunged toward Linda.
Its gaping maw, lined with rows of razor-sharp fangs, aimed directly at her waist.
If it managed to bite her, Linda’s delicate body would be cleaved in two; no beauty could survive such a fate.
At this moment, Linda was already struggling to fend off the first fourth-level beast’s assault, growing flustered and disheveled.
Though she saw the second beast’s attack coming, she was powerless to resist.
Her eyes filled with despair and sorrow as she helplessly watched the second beast close in.
Suddenly, the mysterious underwater tornado swiftly moved, stirring massive waves as it surged forward.
The second beast’s fangs were caught by the whirlpool just three meters from Linda and violently dragged into the vortex.
Startled, Linda tried to evade the engulfing tornado.
Unexpectedly, the tornado seemed to have eyes of its own. Racing forward, it abruptly changed course, narrowly missing her and swallowing the other fourth-level beast clinging to her.
In mere seconds, two fourth-level Azure Scale Beasts were consumed by the strange vortex.
Linda, once doomed, narrowly escaped death. Trembling, she watched the tornado rage on the water’s surface, her beautiful face etched with confusion.
Suddenly, a figure appeared in her line of sight.
“Huh, he came down too!” Linda exclaimed inwardly, staring blankly at Stone Yan’s cold expression beneath the waves.
A strange thought arose in her mind: “Could it be that the tornado was created by him?”
