Chapter 113: Has It Started to Blow?
At Ye Qiu’s command, the fierce battle erupted once more. This time, without the guidance of the World-Destroying Elder, the dark titans had already suffered grievous wounds. They were now but spent arrows, their strength nearly spent.
Ye Qiu need not intervene. Above in the sky, Yue Chan displayed her divine might, sweeping through the battlefield with overwhelming force, single-handedly taking on three great titans, their clash echoing through the void.
Elsewhere, the sacred Ruoxi no longer held back. Their mobilization was aimed at ending the century-old deadlock between the two sects once and for all. Yet, the angelic Xi Feng was no pushover. Though Ruoxi was powerful, she could never quite kill him—always just barely missing the mark, time after time.
Ye Qiu observed Ruoxi for a moment, discerning a fatal flaw in the angel’s confidence, though he chose not to reveal it. Though he lacked skill in combat, many things became clear to him at a glance—where the problems lay. This was another of his unique talents.
“Hm? This angelic beauty seems a bit lacking in self-confidence...” Ye Qiu murmured. Indeed, Ruoxi was strong; among her peers, only Yue Chan and Liu Jianchen could match her. Yet, for some reason, her confidence was not as firm.
Unlike Yue Chan, who bore the aura of a sovereign beneath heaven—proud and invincible across the nine provinces, daring any to challenge her—or Liu Jianchen, whose fearless spirit embraced death without hesitation, Ruoxi lacked that indomitable will. She seemed more like a flower raised in a greenhouse, restrained by invisible bonds, cautious and unwilling to take risks.
Perhaps it was because of the book Ye Qiu once lost, which had a profound influence on her. That book had become her spiritual anchor—without it, she might not know how to proceed. This was a deadly weakness; she relied too heavily on that text, treating it as her unshakable pillar.
Of course, the environment played an even greater role. Compared to Yue Chan and Liu Jianchen, Ruoxi’s circumstances had been far more fortunate. She had never endured the experience of being universally opposed, so her lack of confidence was understandable.
Turning back to the others, Yue Chan had already concluded her battle, effortlessly slaying the three titans she faced. Liu Jianchen wielded the Judge’s Pen like a sharp blade, cutting through the battlefield and dispatching two titans beneath the chaotic heavens.
With the venerable Ku Mu Daoist present to hold the line, Ye Qiu’s intervention was unnecessary.
“Enough! Little Red, let’s go,” Ye Qiu said hurriedly. He glanced once more before beckoning the Devouring Heaven Bird to leave the Chaotic Heaven. He had more pressing matters awaiting him. His presence was no longer needed here.
The Devouring Heaven Bird let out a long howl, rising swiftly with Fu Yao before diving sharply toward the tavern.
Upon returning, Cao He and Qing Cheng stood at the doorway to greet him. Seeing Ye Qiu’s return, they eagerly approached, inquiring, “Master, how’s the situation? Has the chaos been quelled?”
“Don’t be ridiculous! If I intervene, is there anything I can’t fix?” Ye Qiu boasted arrogantly.
As if to say, just because I joke with you doesn’t mean I can’t fight. I usually hold back, but when I strike, a single punch could fell a bull. That’s no exaggeration!
Qing Cheng stepped forward excitedly, “Senior, tell us what happened up there. You’ve been fighting for days; the entire realm trembled with lightning and fire. We have no idea what’s going on.”
“Hehe, I know what happened. Ask me,” the Devouring Heaven Bird interjected before Ye Qiu could boast, wearing a smug expression. It looked at Cao He and Qing Cheng as if to say, “Want to know? Beg me, beg me, and I’ll tell you...”
Goodness, finally my turn to show off! I’ve been holding back! Hurry up and beg me, so I can tell you how I displayed my might in the heavens.
However, Cao He and Qing Cheng glanced at it and, in perfect unison, ignored it completely.
“Damn it...” The bird was furious. Just as it was about to speak, it was dismissed.
Ye Qiu laughed upon seeing the bird’s defeat, “Keep pretending; let’s see if anyone pays you any mind.”
“Alright, since you’re all so curious, I’ll tell you what happened up there,” Ye Qiu said, looking around. Several young beauties from the Celestial Palace had gathered, their curiosity piqued. His heart leapt with joy.
What luck! A free chance to show off.
“Hold on, let those girls be. Let me handle this,” Ye Qiu almost chuckled gleefully. So many bright, lovely beauties—he simply couldn’t pass up the chance to impress.
Pouring himself a cup of tea, he began, “Well, it all started like this...”
From the very first words, he sounded like a seasoned raconteur. As Ye Qiu narrated, the young ladies’ eyes sparkled with admiration, their expressions that of devoted fans. This thrilled Ye Qiu immensely.
“Beneath the Chaotic Heaven, suddenly hundreds of dark titans appeared, each an unparalleled master at the level of Earth Immortal...” His voice grew more animated with each word. The crowd was stunned.
The Devouring Heaven Bird stared at Ye Qiu in disbelief, utterly incredulous.
“Ah, this...” The bird glanced at the amazed young ladies nearby, then back at Ye Qiu’s serious expression, showing no hint of discomfort despite the obvious exaggeration.
It was thoroughly impressed.
So it’s true—if you want to show off, learn from him. Trying to copy others is pointless.
Just a moment ago, I was considering making up thirty or forty titans—was that too much? Now I see it was too modest! Thirty or forty isn’t nearly enough; at least three or four hundred...
Amazing—truly remarkable! I must take notes on every word and expression he uses when bragging. Someday, I’ll give it a try myself...
The Devouring Heaven Bird didn’t expose Ye Qiu’s lies; instead, it quietly watched, ready to learn a few tricks.
“Hundreds of Earth Immortal-level masters?” one of the young women gasped.
“Good heavens, that’s impossible... If there really were hundreds of Earth Immortal-level experts, the entire Great Wilderness would be overturned...” another exclaimed.
As expected, at Ye Qiu’s words, the young ladies gaped in disbelief, their eyes wide in astonishment.
Ye Qiu nodded satisfied, “Hehe, not bad, not bad! Seems you’re all innocent young girls, easy to fool...”
Hundreds of Earth Immortals? What a joke! Such nonsense is easy to believe.
“At that time, the Chaotic Heaven was a battlefield engulfed in flames and chaos! Millions of lives in the Great Wilderness were slaughtered; the carnage was horrific...”
“Ah...” The Celestial Palace maidens grew tense, their concern deepening. Anxiously, they pressed, “And then? What happened to our master? What about the sisters of the Celestial Palace? How was the chaos quelled...?”
