She wasn't worried. She was just surprised by how melodramatic the situation was—nothing more.

"No," Lin Xi replied candidly. "If they can settle things just by meeting once, then so be it."

She would not force it.

"You really aren't in a hurry. You'd rather miss out than take the initiative?"

"I have my own plans."

"That excuse might work to fob off a fool like Cheng Si, but don't try to fool me with it." Bai Xu tapped his fingers rhythmically on the steering wheel, his tone sounding a bit more serious than before. "Come on, give me the truth."

Lin Xi curled her lip, her expression complex. "Can you stop acting like you understand me so well?"
