Mmm-ah-mm...
Don't overthink it!
I'm just waking up!
Just a simple morning stretch!
Quite a few people have this habit when waking up.
Zhong Di rubbed his forehead. What on earth did he do last night? Why the heck was he going to support Yu Sheng's little mistress?
This wasn't just raising a son; he was also responsible for raising the son's second, third, or fourth concubine?
Just thinking about it gave him a headache. He would rather sit by himself and drink some tea.
The moment he thought about how Yu Sheng would only become more outrageous, Zhong Di felt a wave of regret. If anyone ever asked him to do something like this again, he absolutely must refuse, or they would definitely take a mile after being given an inch.
Thinking along these lines, Zhong Di got out of bed.
Get dressed, brush teeth, wash face, go outside to make breakfast...
What the heck is going on? Why are there so many people? By "so many," it just meant compared to the usual number of people at this time of day.
Without even having to think about it, Shao Hong must have arrived first, followed by everyone else. Shao Hong had the keys to the farmhouse, and then came his mom and dad, his elder sister, and the customers. Only he, of all people, was still sleeping until just now.
Actually, he hadn't gone to sleep all that late, and even woke up earlier than those nine-to-five office workers. But in agriculture, people started their day extremely early. By comparison, Zhong Di felt like a giant, lazy salted fish.
After pondering for a brief moment, Zhong Di figured out the reason. The farmhouse had been closed for two consecutive days, so some of its regular customers must have wanted to rush over as quickly as possible to buy some vegetables or the like.
Leaving aside the premium stuff, affordable vegetables like baby bok choy were something most people could easily afford, and they tasted so much better than the produce at the local market.
Using them to cook a casual bowl of noodles or stir-fry a simple vegetable dish was absolute perfection.
"Zhong Di, here is the new work summary. Take a look and see if there are any issues."
Zhong Di...
How could it be that the moment he woke up, before even having breakfast, he was already being asked to look at these things? How annoying. When would he ever be free from having to read them?
Zhong Di frowned, then glanced at his elder sister's expression, and ultimately took the document. He didn't want to make his elder sister too disappointed, so he might as well read it!

For whatever reason, whether it was his elder sister, Shao Hong, or his dad, they always kept asking him about this or that from time to time, as if nothing could be done properly without his final say.
This was truly frustrating, you know!
Couldn't they just stop asking him about everything and make their own decisions?
Zhong Di took the physical copy of the work summary and flipped directly to the section where he had given feedback yesterday. Aside from being printed out on paper, the rest probably hadn't changed much!
"Ah, I knew you didn't read it carefully last night!" Before Zhong Di could even flip to the right page, Zhong Hui let out a sudden cry.
"Who says I didn't read it carefully? I read it extremely carefully, and it took me a long time."
"You definitely didn't. Today's work summary has at least a twenty percent change compared to the one from last night, and you didn't even notice." Zhong Hui said with an indignant huff.
All that effort over the past two days—oh wait, even factoring in all the various preparations he had made beforehand—just to finish this work summary, and it was being treated this way.
"Wasn't I just thinking that I only needed to look at the parts where I gave feedback? Besides, as for how the farmhouse develops, you guys can just handle it yourselves; you don't need to consult me about everything."
"How can we do that? This farmhouse is your hard work. If we went ahead and made changes on our own, it would be ruining your hard work." Zhong Hui immediately rejected the idea.
That would never do. Her younger brother had quit his job to return home and start a business, and had finally managed to get to this point. If they started messing things around randomly, wouldn't everything descend into chaos?
"Then why don't you guys take over that returning farmland to forest project?" Zhong Di had a flash of inspiration and blurted it out. Afterward, he felt something wasn't quite right and quickly corrected himself, "Never mind, let me think about it some more!"
With that said, Zhong Di continued reading. He didn't start from the beginning; his elder sister could say whatever she wanted, but whether he read it or not was up to him. He certainly wasn't going to follow his elder sister's every word.
In his view, aside from needing to pull his dad away to keep an eye on the returning farmland to forest project, the rest of it was trivial and could just develop at a normal rhythm.
Thinking carefully about his elder sister's words, what she said actually made a lot of sense. If they really went ahead and did things the way she and Shao Hong wanted, they might genuinely mess up his hard work.
Turning it completely unrecognizable until it lost the very feeling he was aiming for—that must be why they kept asking him for his opinion!
Looking at the overall development of the farmhouse, his mom, dad, elder sister, and Shao Hong all possessed a certain degree of capability.
His dad belonged to the steady type. Whatever he did lacked his own independent ideas, but he was very reliable in his execution and could handle things stably without letting major problems arise.
His mom belonged to the patient type. She excelled at repetitive and meticulous tasks, able to do them all exceptionally well. This was probably a skill honed from her days working in a factory!
If he were asked to do jobs like planting vegetables the way his mom did, he truly wouldn't be able to pull it off.
Take thinning out seedlings, for instance! Squatting there to pull them out one by one—Zhong Di simply didn't have that kind of patience.

His elder sister belonged to the talented type, seemingly born to handle the kind of work she was currently doing. Aside from bookkeeping, which she was a bit weak at, she did everything else brilliantly.
Zhong Di always felt that in the past, his elder sister's talent had simply been buried.
Shao Hong was of the growing type. In the beginning, he lacked innate talent, his dad's steadiness, and his mom's patience, but he kept growing, developing evenly across all areas and getting better and better with time.
As for Zhong Di himself, he was of the salted fish type—there didn't seem much to say about that. For him, the most valuable part of life was enjoyment, especially having his time under his own control.
Rather than being controlled by houses, cars, and luxury goods, he preferred having plenty of time to devote to himself and enjoying life to the fullest.
Yet things never quite went as wished. Fate had instead given him a super ability, granting him not only his own time, but also the wealth that any ordinary minor tycoon could possibly possess—talk about annoying!
Quietly whispering to himself, Zhong Di realized he was a newborn-level Versailles pretentious person!
After reading for a while, Zhong Di confirmed that there were no issues with the plan.
His dad would still be at the farmhouse today, mainly to hand over his current work to someone else before taking full charge of the returning farmland to forest project.
His elder sister had even drawn up a preliminary plan for the forestry project that turned out even better than Zhong Di had anticipated. He was already thinking of just using her plan as it was.
"Mm, looks fine. Can that preliminary plan for returning farmland to forest be made more detailed?"
Zhong Di decided to chat with his elder sister about this matter.
With her talent, it couldn't be wasted. If he had to rack his own brains to figure it out, goodness knows how long it would take, and it would cost him so many brain cells.
"Of course no problem, but you have to pay me an extra fee." Zhong Hui didn't refuse.
"Alright, how much do you want? Five thousand per plan, how about that?" Zhong Di didn't skimp at all. He didn't have any major expenses anyway, and all his dividends were sitting securely in his bank account, so it wasn't a big deal.
"I was just joking, and you actually took it seriously."
"Whether you're joking or not, either way is fine. The detailed plan is up to you." Zhong Di didn't want to deal with so many twists and turns, so he stated his purpose directly.
To put it simply, whether his elder sister wanted extra cash or was just joking, this task belonged to her now. He certainly didn't want to burn any brain cells over it; wouldn't it be much better to go tease Yu Sheng instead?
