“I was not far away at the time, and I saw it very clearly... that wound was definitely not caused by a human.”
“Not only that, but I also heard some explosive news.”
“What news?” Chen Tianming asked.
“I overheard one of the officials mention the ‘Shadowlight Society’.”
“Shadowlight Society?” Chen Tianming was taken aback upon hearing that.
“Yes, the Shadowlight Society—an organization everyone wants to eradicate. They commit all sorts of heinous acts, gathering a band of wicked poison masters to carry out their evil deeds.”
“Do you think my uncle is alright?” Chen Tianming asked with concern.
“Alas! Who knows?!” his aunt sighed. “An orange alert has been issued, but he insists that one of the exploration teams has run out of supplies. He and your father are now on their way there together. What do you think that’s about?”
“What?” Chen Tianming’s face changed dramatically. “My father went too?”
“Yes! The government was providing subsidies, and since the team urgently needed the supplies, they offered an additional amount. So the two of them took on the job.”
“Even apprentice poison masters wouldn’t dare take that kind of assignment, yet these two ordinary men accepted it... If nothing happens, that’s one thing, but what if something goes wrong... What are we supposed to do then?”
“Aunt, don’t worry. Since Dad and Uncle dared to take it on, they must have assessed the risks,” Chen Yuqing chimed in with gestures. “Besides, they are delivering to a designated relay station, and the regular routes are patrolled and guarded. There shouldn’t be any danger.”
Watching Yuqing’s gestures as she tried to comfort herself, Chen Li chuckled softly. “You silly girl! You should take care of yourself first. But don’t worry! As long as I’m here, you’ll always have enough to eat, so rest easy.”
Chen Li’s eyes were full of affection. She and her husband had no children, so in her eyes, Tianming and Yuqing were like her own.
——
Chen Li’s words planted a sense of urgency in Chen Tianming’s heart, and he became even more diligent in his cultivation.
After only two days at his aunt’s house, he returned to the library of the Cloud Peak Poison Master Academy.
He spent the entire winter break in quiet study. Knowing that releasing two palm thunder poison jars would result in their dimming, he came to understand the importance of refining poisons even more deeply.
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, the new semester arrived.
In the library, Chen Tianming brushed off the dust from his clothes, preparing for the new term.
With confident strides, he entered the classroom and sat in his usual seat in the back row.
Hmm? Something was off—very off indeed.

Chen Tianming quickly sensed that Hou Longtao, the little monkey, was acting strangely. In the past, whenever they hadn’t seen each other for a long time, this guy would immediately bombard him with updates on recent happenings.
But today, Hou Longtao sat immersed, staring blankly ahead all day.
Looking around, Chen Tianming noticed almost all the male classmates were the same way.
“What the hell, is there something dirty here?” Chen Tianming exclaimed. “Are there evil poison masters lurking on campus, or have some monsters sneaked in?”
“Hello everyone, I’m your instructor for the Poison Magic Practical Course,” came a mature, commanding female voice from outside the door just as he was about to bolt. “You can call me Teacher Feiyue.”
Following the voice, Chen Tianming shuddered and fell into a trance.
The reason was simple: she was too alluring. A woman in a black bodycon skirt and white sheer blouse walked gracefully onto the podium.
Her face bore a confident smile, and her golden-rimmed glasses added an intellectual charm. Her rose-red hair shimmered brilliantly in the sunlight.
“I’m your new teacher. I hope we have a pleasant semester together.” She bowed and blew a gentle kiss to the class.
That morning was already a time when young men were most easily stirred, and at such a provocative gesture, a series of wild cries erupted like they’d been injected with adrenaline.
“Since everyone has only awakened their poison talents for one semester... no one has yet successfully released poison magic.”
The morning was dedicated entirely to poison magic practice. After explaining the basic cautions in the classroom, all the students gathered at the training grounds.
Each training ground held five iron men of unknown material, shining with an impenetrable luster under the sunlight.
They looked extremely sturdy, difficult to destroy.
Each training ground was covered by a dome-like energy shield to prevent any energy overflow from causing irreversible damage to the surroundings.
“Watch closely. Today I will demonstrate the beginner sword poison magic—‘Void-Cutting Slash!’”
She picked up a slender Western-style sword from the rack beside the practice platform to use as a demonstration weapon.
“Sword poison magic? I didn’t expect Teacher Feiyue to be a sword poison master,” Hou Longtao exclaimed, eyes wide. “No wonder she looks so cool and fierce—she’s my dream teacher.”
Teacher Feiyue stood straight and motionless on the platform, her graceful figure perfectly outlined by her professional attire.
All the male students fixed their gaze on her, afraid to miss a single detail.
“Focus is the key to overcoming enemies. Even as I speak to you, my mind is already immersed deep within my recognition sea.”
Her voice was like a nightingale’s song, entering every student’s ears.
Just as everyone was about to treat Teacher Feiyue as if she were a statue, suddenly her clothes fluttered as if stirred by a windless breeze, and a solemn aura radiated from her.
At that moment, all the students who still harbored impure thoughts widened their eyes, staring intently at the platform.
Murderous intent!!!

Everyone present felt a fierce killing intent. Only then did they realize that the woman before them was not just a school instructor but a battle-hardened poison master.
This seemingly harmless teacher had endured iron blood and slaughter.
“Precise and elegant!” Feiyue whispered softly before vanishing from the students’ sight.
In just a second, her form reappeared as if everything that had just happened was an illusion.
A brilliant smile graced her lips, and with the Western sword in hand, she looked heroic and captivating, mesmerizing the crowd below.
She lightly snapped her fingers.
“Snap!”
Suddenly, the five iron men on the practice platform were sliced as if cut by the sharpest kitchen knife, each one cleaving into neat, smooth pieces like tofu.
“Shh! Shh! Shh!”
The students gasped, their eyes filled with awe as they looked at Teacher Feiyue.
Not a trace of excess energy leaked outside; the control of the poison magic was truly at its peak.
Contained yet overwhelmingly powerful!
Had that slash been aimed at them, none would have survived.
The boys who had been harboring impure thoughts quickly restrained themselves, behaving like the most obedient children, not daring to show even the slightest improper behavior.
But there was one person on stage whose expression was fervent—Chen Tianming. He stared dreamily at Teacher Feiyue.
Hard!
Chen Tianming’s fist clenched tightly.
“This is what it means to be a poison master. This is my goal.”
Though it was only beginner-level poison magic, it could unleash such terrifying power.
