We stormed into the base, where the Jiang family’s mercenaries were already standing by. They were well-equipped, clad in full body armor, and armed with assault rifles. With unwavering gazes, they opened fire the moment they spotted us.

"Tank unit! Fire at the one riding the tiger! Blast him to hell!" Jiang Yunjie shouted from the sidelines.

Light tanks roared onto the battlefield, their heavy armor barely trembling as zombie animals collided with them. As the tank barrels adjusted their aim, the zombie tiger, Dahuang, maneuvered with agility, skillfully dodging the onslaught.

Shell after shell missed, slamming into the hordes of zombie animals. The deafening explosions sent flames and debris flying, instantly clearing entire sections of the area.

A rocket launcher squad tracked the threats in the sky, swiftly locking onto their targets and pulling the triggers. Trails of searing fire cut through the night air, followed by thunderous explosions that shattered the avian zombies, scattering their feathers and flesh like a gruesome curtain of rain.

Yet, the number of zombie animals I brought seemed endless. They surged forward, fearless and relentless, slaughtering the mercenaries before them.

The battle reached a fever pitch. The gunfire of the mercenaries, the roars of the zombie animals, the rumble of tanks, and the blast of rockets merged into a chaotic symphony. Sweat and blood streaked the mercenaries' faces as they began to falter.

Some of the foolish survivors living within Jiang Base No. 9 attempted to assist the Jiang family, only to be torn apart by the zombie animals without exception. The rest huddled in their rooms, doors tightly bolted, not daring to make a sound.

I scanned my surroundings, searching for Jiang Yunjie. In the distance, under the glare of the lights, I saw his butler ushering him toward the depths of the base. Dahuang and I immediately gave chase.

I knew the principle of capturing the leader to end the rebellion. To end this endless skirmish, I had to seize that man, Jiang Yunjie.

I gritted my teeth, dodging and weaving through the mercenaries' blockade with everything I had. Yet, they clung to me like maggots on bone, impossible to shake off, and bullets continued to whiz toward me.

*Whoosh—*

A sharp whistle cut through the air near my ear. My heart tightened as I saw a flash from a rocket launcher in the distance; a missile was streaking directly toward me.

The zombie tiger beneath me reacted with lightning speed, slamming into a sudden halt. The rocket detonated right before us, the sky erupting in fire and a shockwave that slammed us hard into the ground.

Unfazed, the zombie tiger scrambled to its feet, let out a roar, and charged directly at the mercenary who had fired the rocket.

Ignoring the dust on my body, I kept my eyes locked on Jiang Yunjie. They snuck into a shipping container, but emerged moments later, dragging a woman with short, flowing hair behind them. Could it be Luo Yucheng?

"Damn it!"

My heart skipped a beat, a sense of dread washing over me. I quickly signaled the zombie tiger to return, leaped onto its back, and raced toward the container.

I ripped the gate open, and the scene before me made my blood run cold. A group of dying people lay on the ground, their bodies a bloody, mangled mess, the stench of raw carnage thick enough to suffocate me.

I gasped, rushing over to check on them. "Boss? Hanchuan? Are you okay?" My voice trembled.

Looking at Uncle Sun nearby, he looked ghastly, gasping for air as if on the verge of his last breath. Fortunately, little Huihui appeared unharmed.

A wave of sorrow surged within me. I choked out, "I'm sorry! Everyone, I'm late!"

Jiang Hanchuan parted his cracked lips, his voice sounding like a broken bellows.

"You son of a... you finally made it..."

He broke into a violent coughing fit, as if trying to cough up his very organs.

Looking at their horrific, gaping wounds, which seemed to scream of endless agony and torture, my eyes grew moist.

I dared not waste another second. I began untying them, silently swearing to make Jiang Yunjie pay a painful price. My heart was filled with a burning desire for blood.

Xu Hanfeng suddenly grabbed my arm, his voice trembling: "Yu... Yucheng, they took her!"

My heart plummeted as if falling into a bottomless abyss. It was indeed Luo Yucheng; they must have taken her as a hostage.

But for now, I had to handle what was right in front of me. Gritting my teeth, I mounted the zombie tiger. With a roar, it turned and charged, bolting toward the infirmary like an arrow from a bow.

Inside the infirmary, I scavenged frantically, stuffing every medicine I could find into my bag. I rushed back without pause, my clothes soaked through with sweat.

I applied medicine and bandages to their wounds one by one. Though my technique was clumsy, my resolve was firm. Little Huihui ran over to help.

Just then, the woman from the family that had betrayed us approached with her head bowed, whispering, "Young man, go save that girl! Leave them to me; I will take care of them."

Hearing this, I turned around. The moment I saw her, my rage erupted like a volcano.

"Get lost! I don't need your fake pity!" I roared, my eyes practically spitting fire.

She ignored my words, silently squatting down to pick up the gauze and medicine—a sight I found utterly repulsive.

I couldn't take it anymore. I kicked her aside and barked, "Didn't you hear me? I said, get the hell away from me!"

If not for her, we might not have been exposed so quickly, or perhaps we might have already escaped, spared from the torture and suffering the others were enduring.

I moved to kick her again, but Xu Hanfeng caught my leg. His voice was weak, yet undeniably firm: "Forget it! Go... go save Yucheng!"

Looking into Xu Hanfeng's pleading eyes, my fury simmered down slightly.

I took a deep breath and turned to chase after them, whispering to myself: "Yucheng, wait for me! I will bring you back!"

I vanished into the night like a bolt of lightning, leaving behind the woman slumped on the ground and Xu Hanfeng’s worried gaze.

The zombie tiger raced forward like a released arrow, moving with terrifying, breakneck speed.

Before long, we caught up to Jiang Yunjie and his cohorts. They were truly courting death, moving slowly while burdened with heavy supplies. It was the height of stupidity—lifting a rock only to drop it on their own feet, digging their own graves.

"Jiang, you scum! Don't run! Let Luo Yucheng go!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, my voice echoing across the desolate wilderness.

Hearing my voice, Jiang Yunjie spun around, clearly shocked that I had caught up so quickly.

He frantically ordered his men to open fire. Bullets whistled past my ears...
