Capital City Dance Academy
Girls’ Dormitory.
Lin Ting sat on a chair, chatting with her roommates.
Zhou Yuwei said, "Being first in the major is one thing, but your academic score... over 740 points? Why are you even going to a dance academy? Are you crazy? Should I try to help you apply to Capital City University instead?"
Jiang Jingyao said, "A legend. The school's legend—already spreading in the freshmen group chat before classes even start."
Zhou Yuwei said, "Everyone wants to meet the genius who scored over 700 points."
"Lin Ting, you’ve made someone at a dance academy actually respect your academic scores," Jiang Jingyao said.
Lin Ting smiled, "I can make everyone respect my major skills too."
"That's just asking for a beating," Zhou Yuwei teased.
Lin Ting chuckled again.
Jiang Jingyao asked, "Do you want some chocolate? My mom made it herself, it’s really good."
Zhou Yuwei took a piece.
Lin Ting said, "I really want some, but I’ve gained weight and need to control it."
Jiang Jingyao quickly pulled back her hand and looked at her sympathetically, "You’re so unfortunate."
"Luckily, we have military training tomorrow, no classes," Zhou Yuwei said while eating chocolate, "Look at me, I can eat as much as I want and never gain weight."
"You're just asking for a beating," Lin Ting mimicked her tone.
Zhou Yuwei laughed and kept praising the chocolate.
Jiang Jingyao took another piece and offered it to the roommate in the innermost bed, "Fang Rui, you try some."
Fang Rui was sitting on a chair, wiping her desk, "No thanks, I also need to control my weight."
"Alright then, you’re all so unfortunate," Jiang Jingyao said, eating one herself. She looked at Lin Ting, "Where are your blanket and mattress? You haven’t wiped your desk either. How do you sleep at night? Standing on your head by the wall?"
"My brother and sister will come by soon," Lin Ting said. "They’re the muscle."
"Are you local too?" Zhou Yuwei asked.
"Sort of," Lin Ting replied. "My household registration is here in Capital City, but I didn’t grow up here."
"Yuwei and I are both from Capital City," Jiang Jingyao said. "We weren’t in the same high school but were in the same talent class."
Zhou Yuwei nodded, "Only Fang Rui is from out of town."
"That’s okay," Jiang Jingyao said. "I’ll look out for you two, take you out to have fun. Don’t be afraid, Rui Rui."
Fang Rui looked at them and said, "Thank you."
Before long, Qin Lu and Yin Xing arrived.
Lin Ting and Yin Xing sat on chairs, watching Qin Lu wipe the bed frame, make the bed, and clean the bookshelf and desk.
They also watched as Qin Lu opened Lin Ting’s suitcase and placed some books and a computer on the desk.
"Put away your own clothes," Qin Lu said.
"Okay," Lin Ting replied.
"Okay," Yin Xing echoed Lin Ting’s tone.
"I wanted to help my sister tidy the dorm," Qin Lu imitated Yin Xing’s tone before leaving, "but after arriving, my butt hasn’t left the chair."
"She’s still little," Lin Ting said. "Can she really handle these things?"
Yin Xing nodded.
Qin Lu smiled, "She’s sixteen, not six."
Lin Ting and Yin Xing instinctively looked down, glanced at their nails, and silently agreed to get manicures together.
Qin Lu: "............"

Qin Lu looked at them and said, "Let’s go eat."
Lin Ting and Yin Xing immediately stood up.
"You two ears are advanced; you only hear what you want to hear," Qin Lu said, tapping their heads once.
Then he walked out.
Two roommates had already left.
Only Jiang Jingyao remained.
Lin Ting asked, "Want to go out to eat together?"
"No," Jiang Jingyao was dismantling something like a picture frame, "My family is coming to pick me up soon; my parents are throwing me a welcome dinner."
As she spoke, the frame came apart.
It was a painting.
The colors were vivid and striking.
In the lower right corner, the signature read “Moonlight.”
Lin Ting and Qin Lu exchanged a glance.
"Such a beautiful painting," Yin Xing said.
Jiang Jingyao immediately smiled, "Right? It’s by an artist I really like. My dad gave it to me as a back-to-school gift."
"Beautiful," Lin Ting said, looking at Qin Lu. "So what about my back-to-school gift?"
Qin Lu pressed her head down and led her outside, "Back-to-school gift? I think you look like a back-to-school gift."
"Ah! Qin Lu!" Lin Ting hit his arm, "Don’t press me, you’re making me shorter!"
"Call me brother," Qin Lu said.
Lin Ting hit him again.
Yin Xing joined in, and they both playfully hit him.
Qin Lu ran ahead a few steps, "You two are really too much."
...
After school started, Lin Ting underwent two full weeks of military training.
It was semi-closed military training.
Training was during the day; at night there was no explicit ban on going out, but it was discouraged.
Especially during the day, it was hot and exhausting, so almost no one went out.
Lin Ting obediently completed the two weeks of training.
Shen Anyu and Qin Lu’s advice was: since you’re going to school, fully experience college life.
Don’t worry about too many things.
If nothing major happens, just focus on your studies.
The next time she met Shang Moting was on the night after military training ended.
Lin Ting’s dorm had a gathering.
The venue was arranged by Jiang Jingyao.
The four of them drank a little.
It was the kind of mild sweet wine that came as a complimentary drink in a set meal, very low in alcohol.
However, Fang Rui and Zhou Yuwei had very low alcohol tolerance.

When they left the restaurant, the two of them could hardly stand.
Lin Ting and Jiang Jingyao each supported one.
They had taken a taxi to get there.
Now, trying to get a taxi back, none could be hailed.
Jiang Jingyao called her family driver to pick them up.
While she was on the phone, a car pulled up in front of them.
Lin Ting looked at the familiar Rolls-Royce.
The next moment, the rear window rolled down, revealing Shang Moting’s face.
Lin Ting suddenly widened her eyes.
She wasn’t sure if it was the alcohol or something else, but she realized she actually missed Shang Moting a little.
This strange feeling made her uneasy for a moment.
"Where to?" Shang Moting asked.
Jiang Jingyao stared at Shang Moting’s face, frozen in place.
How could someone be so handsome?
One Lin Ting was enough to make people jealous.
And now there was another.
"Dance Academy," Lin Ting said.
A barely noticeable flicker of surprise passed through Shang Moting’s eyes.
He looked at her but didn’t move.
Lin Ting added, "Capital City Dance Academy."
Shang Moting glanced at her again, then withdrew his gaze, opened the door, and got out, "Get in."
He walked around to the driver’s seat, letting Wei Zhishu get out, and sat down himself.
Lin Ting helped Fang Rui into the car; Jiang Jingyao stopped her, "Is she your friend?"
"I..." Lin Ting nodded.
"Really?" Jiang Jingyao hesitated, "He... is a bit fierce."
"You’re so kind. Is ‘a bit’ really just a bit for him?" Lin Ting asked.
Jiang Jingyao was silent.
"Don’t worry, I guarantee you’ll get home safely," Lin Ting said.
Jiang Jingyao also helped Zhou Yuwei into the car, then sat beside her.
Lin Ting took the front passenger seat.
Shang Moting looked at her flushed face, "Seatbelt."
"Oh," Lin Ting was a bit slow to react but fastened it.
Oh no.
She felt like she might be a little drunk too...
