Volume 1, Chapter 32: The Western Dragon, An Eastern Appearance
The ancestor of the Soul-Devouring Heavenly Beetles turned around. His upper body remained intact, while his lower half was fused with a river of blood. His pupils, a deep and hollow blue, fixed their gaze upon Qin Hao and his companions.
Yu Miaomiao felt as if the original owners of those scattered bones were now hovering beside Mei Ruhu, staring at him with eyes full of venomous resentment.
Having touched upon the Laws of Wind, Qin Hao could clearly perceive that although the Shuiyue Secret Realm seemed to function perfectly within a seamless cycle, something was amiss.
Wei Jiuxiao watched the steam rising from the bamboo rat meat pie before him, then lowered his head and took a bite.
In the dim light, the man watched the graceful figure fleeing for her life, his deep eyes as calm and rippleless as if submerged in ice water.
Chu Changxun set down his cup, reached into the pouch at his waist, and pulled out a few grains of yellow rice. He glanced at me, his expression seemingly saying, "I told you this chicken was mine, and you didn't believe me. Look, I know when this chicken is thirsty, and I know when it’s hungry—do you?"
On the bank across the lotus pond, Yu Miaomiao climbed ashore. She redressed herself and returned to the Third Prince’s side.
Ji Ya and I left, heading toward the East Sea. According to her intelligence, the former headquarters of the Dragon Clan, the Dragon Palace, lay deep within the vast, boundless East Sea.
As darkness fell, the flames, raging like wild dragons, appeared even more brilliant, yet no one had the leisure to admire them. The sorcerers of the Nanyue Kingdom did not seem to possess great stamina; three of them took turns engaging in battle, alternating to rest and recover. Even so, Bai Yan and his group were exhausted from trying to cope.
The habit of the Thunder Beasts was to rely on the cover of constant lightning, waiting for their prey to draw near before launching a sneak attack. However, encountering Qin Hao was their misfortune; every time they closed in, Qin Hao would preemptively strike.
"Let's go." Giving Elfna’s head a gentle pat, Lian began walking back the way they had come. Within seconds, Lian had left the creature far behind.
Ever since Bai Xiuming’s fire manipulation techniques reached a new height, he had been incredibly excited, viewing Yun Hao almost as his own elder brother.
At night, just after Chen Fei had coaxed Xian'er to sleep, he suddenly twitched his nose, catching a fragrant scent. It was a peculiar aroma, different from the powders used by Lin Chuan or Yan Yun'er, yet quite pleasant.
She had not expected that after half a year of martial arts practice, her reflexes would become so sharp, and her strikes so precise and ruthless.
"No need, I can walk myself," Chen Fei said. He bowed to Li Shimin before being led away by the guards.
If he could not solve the problem of replenishing his essence, Qin Yi’s cultivation might be stalled at this level for the rest of his life.
"Don't be afraid, Squad Leader. With me, Lin Feng, here, she can't touch you. Besides, we haven't violated any school rules; why fear her?" Lin Feng looked at the teacher before him without a hint of trepidation. He walked upright and acted with a clear conscience, so he had nothing to fear.
Naturally, just as he realized this, one of the teams in the shanty area made a breakthrough.
"How is holding off this dragon's attacks? Can you handle it?" Lian glanced at the dragon approaching him. Fortunately, he still had plenty of time.
One’s perspective shifts depending on where one sits. There was no clear right or wrong here; it was simply that, from Bingquan’s position, he didn’t want to provide the help.
Jiang Yuting’s eyes darkened completely, looking as if they were spiked with ice. He scanned the people in the hall coldly, pulled out his phone, and dialed Shen Jiaren’s number. After two rings, the call was answered.
Her voice, as gentle as ever, effectively neutralized the scent of disinfectant in the room. Park Soona let out a sigh of relief and, gathering her courage, walked toward the hospital bed.
Yet, as time slowly passed, our Gisi grew larger and larger, and looked more and more like Roschina.
At the edge of the forest, the remnants of the old defensive fortifications were still vaguely visible, with tattered military banners fluttering in the wind.
Lin Xiaoxiao, from beginning to end, remained completely calm, her mindset peaceful, showing no signs of discomfort.
Gu Beijue picked up the fried egg she had placed in his bowl and took small, slow bites, as if he were savoring a gourmet delicacy.
"No need to worry," Gu Beijue said leisurely, seeing her leaning halfway out the window.
A wooden footbridge stretched through the center of the flowering trees, extending up toward Wushan Mountain, resembling a golden ladder to heaven under the silver-purple glow.
Wang Xin looked at Wang Jie with anxiety, but Wang Jie, his face ashen, kept his teeth clenched, unwilling to reveal information regarding the Shadow Demon Sect.
This was hardly surprising; how could an Immortal King ever look down upon anyone below the Immortal King realm?
The middle-aged man watched the agitated and nervous soldier, attempting to soothe him. He did not want to waste time on a single soldier; as long as he could tell him what happened last night, everything would be clear.
"If you don't go, I’ll use this gadget to destroy your sphincter and leave you incontinent for the rest of your life..." Ling Chen said, picking up a jagged dagger that glimmered with a cold light.
Ling Chen frowned. *Damn it*, he thought, *are you still trying to put on a show and act tough with me?* Without a second thought, he released Tong Yan’s hand, shifted his body, and kicked Wang Laohu in the stomach, sending him flying.
