After lunch, Ye Chunxi took a brief nap.

By the time a servant came to call her, she had already changed and was ready to leave.

International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Mu Yiheng, who had rushed over from Yanjing, sank into a chair in the lounge and rubbed his tired eyes.

To clear his schedule for that afternoon, he had barely slept the night before.

He raised his wrist and glanced at his watch. It was a little past two.

“President Mu, have some water.”

He accepted the bottle of mineral water from his secretary, took a sip, and asked, “Has Jin Yuchuan still not arrived?”

“Not yet,” the secretary replied. “I’ve already stationed someone at the entrance to keep watch.”

Mu Yiheng’s brows drew together in thought, his expression unreadable.

After two seconds of silence, he suddenly asked, “Are there any noteworthy experts among those invited this time?”

“Most of them are familiar names. It’s just that this seminar seems to have several more young attendees than usual.”

Mu Yiheng frowned slightly, unable to understand why.

Still, the Medical Alliance was notoriously strict in its internal selection process. A seminar of such importance would never be handled perfunctorily.

He saw nothing strange about young people distinguishing themselves early.

“Keep an eye on them.”

The secretary acknowledged him softly and left to make the necessary calls.

A few minutes later, he returned. “President Mu, Lord Jin has arrived.”

Mu Yiheng immediately strode outside.

Just beyond the convention center, Nan Sheng spotted the car from Deer Garden and turned to the man behind him. “Lord Jin, Miss Ye is here.”

Jin Yuchuan had been waiting for several minutes. Hearing this, he lifted his head to confirm it for himself, closed his laptop, and walked over.

Having just stepped out of the car, Ye Chunxi brushed back the strands of hair the wind had tousled around her ear. When she turned, she saw Jin Yuchuan approaching.

She went to meet him. “Big Brother.”

Mu Yiheng had just emerged from the convention center when he unexpectedly heard those words. His hand tightened at his side, and an inexplicable fury flared within him.

Jin Yuchuan lowered his eyes and looked at her.

The young woman was dressed in fresh, understated colors that day, resembling an elegant magnolia blooming high on a mountain. She drew frequent glances from passersby, yet no one dared approach.

Her cool, aloof appearance, combined with the effortless distance she carried, made her seem fit only to be admired from afar.

Ye Chunxi turned her gaze toward the convention center.

A shadow suddenly fell beside her, blocking her view.

She looked up.

The man before her was dressed entirely in black, his imposing bearing unmistakable. His eyes were deep as a bottomless pool, his features cold and hard, and there was a stern authority about him that sent a chill through anyone who met his gaze.

Mu Yiheng turned slightly toward her, his expression complicated as he silently studied her.

She appeared perfectly well, with even a hint of color in her cheeks.

It seemed Jin Yuchuan had taken good care of her.

Mu Yiheng relaxed a little. Then he lightly placed a hand on her shoulder, openly declaring his claim.

“Yuchuan…”

Before he could finish, the hand resting on Ye Chunxi’s shoulder was suddenly seized.

Mu Yiheng had not yet realized what was happening when a powerful force yanked his arm. In the next instant, he was thrown hard to the ground in a shoulder throw.

Everyone nearby was stunned.

Secretary Lin’s eyes widened, and he hurried forward to help Mu Yiheng to his feet.

“President Mu,” he called anxiously.

Wincing in pain, Mu Yiheng sat up, clutching his chest as several coughs escaped him.

Jin Yuchuan froze for a moment, then stared at Ye Chunxi in disbelief.

Mu Yiheng, helped to his feet, also turned to look at her.

Under their scrutiny, Ye Chunxi felt a little guilty, but she answered candidly all the same. “I don’t like being touched by other people. It was an instinctive reaction.”

Facing Mu Yiheng directly, she added sincerely, “I’m sorry. I didn’t control my strength.”

Then, with no less firmness, she continued, “But you were the one who touched me first.”

The implication was clear: he had brought it upon himself.

Mu Yiheng coughed violently twice, the corners of his eyes faintly reddening.

Perhaps still dazed from the fall, he took quite some time to recover. When he finally looked at Ye Chunxi again, his gaze held both curiosity and surprise.

“Not bad. You’ve had training.”

Although her memories were gone, Ye Chunxi’s movements had been far too smooth and practiced.

Moreover, when she had made her move, she had clearly sensed something shifting within her body.

She nodded. “I suppose so.”

Mu Yiheng let out a cold laugh.

On the day he had reunited with Ye Chunxi, he had already heard of her reputation as a little terror.

She had never shown the slightest fear even when facing boys twice her size, and had once beaten one so badly that he rolled across the ground, several teeth knocked loose.

Everyone at the orphanage claimed that she had once been a street thug, but Mu Yiheng had never believed it.

He had intended to investigate further after bringing her home.

He had never expected to discover the truth through personal experience.

Having been touched by an unfamiliar man, Ye Chunxi was filled with disgust toward him.

Yet she knew she had used excessive force, and reluctantly said, “I can cover your medical expenses. Judging by that suit, I suggest you start behaving like a gentleman. Don’t waste such a handsome face, and don’t even think about taking liberties with me.”

Mu Yiheng, lectured by his own younger sister, was rendered speechless.
