The young attendant followed Qin Feng closely, chattering incessantly about various topics related to the city. Qin Feng listened carefully and gradually formed a clear understanding in his mind.
“Immortal Lord, where do you wish to go next? I will take you,” the attendant said as he led Qin Feng on a stroll through the city. He noticed Qin Feng hardly bought anything and felt a bit disappointed.
Qin Feng shook his head. “That’s enough wandering for now. I plan to rest here for the night. Do you know of any place to stay?”
“I do,” the attendant’s tone brightened instantly. “Immortal Lord, follow me. I know of a place where the goods are affordable and many people stay.”
Qin Feng followed him to a tavern. Once inside, the attendant acted as if he were well acquainted with the place. “Uncle Zhao, I’m here again! This Immortal Lord wants to stay the night. Please arrange a room for him.”
“Also, Uncle Zhao, please give the Immortal Lord an invitation to tomorrow’s Wanbao Auction! The Immortal Lord will attend!” he added eagerly.
The innkeeper Zhao smiled warmly. “Of course, of course.”
After settling the accommodation, the attendant bid farewell. “Immortal Lord, that will be all for today. If you need me tomorrow, just tell Uncle Zhao.”
“Alright,” Qin Feng smiled and paid. Soon, he entered the assigned room, which was simply furnished with a bed, a meditation cushion, and a desk with a chair.
Closing the door, Qin Feng inspected the room briefly. Besides a low-level spirit gathering formation, there was a simple soundproofing array.
Seeing this, Qin Feng reluctantly took out another separation array from his belongings. In case of any sudden disturbances, it could alert him.
After a night of cultivation, Qin Feng’s foundation had solidified immensely.
This journey was not only for a sect mission but also an opportunity to break through his Qi Sea level in one go. The sect had too many eyes watching him, making him feel unsafe.
After tidying up, he had a spiritual food breakfast.
He then headed to the auction house, where a sizable crowd had already gathered. Most had come because the auction was showcasing treasures unearthed from a certain ruin.
These so-called ruins were more like wild graves built by fallen cultivators, or ancient battlefields and old sect sites.
Such places did have treasures, but they were exceedingly rare.
Moreover, if truly exquisite items were found there, these places wouldn’t be abandoned and left exposed.
Qin Feng understood this clearly.
Still, he chose to come, mainly to replenish his supplies.
He also harbored a small hope of stumbling upon a lucky find—after all, who wouldn’t want fortune to smile upon them?
At the entrance, a maid asked to see his invitation. Qin Feng was about to present it—

“How could he possibly have one?”
A sudden voice interrupted Qin Feng’s motion. Where do these fools come from?
Qin Feng frowned and turned.
He saw a wealthy young master approaching, dressed in golden jade attire that shimmered faintly.
Clearly, a well-off second-generation cultivator.
This thought flashed through the crowd’s minds.
Chen Tianyu’s face was full of arrogance. He waved a fan as he looked down on Qin Feng. “You worthless trash, I didn’t expect you’d have the nerve to show up today.”
“What’s the matter? Tired of your jade peak? Looking for some trouble?”
Chen Tianyu’s words dripped with contempt.
Qin Feng recalled in his mind and was certain he didn’t know the man.
He had no idea where this person came from or why he was so hostile. Qin Feng decided to ignore him and was about to hand over the invitation to the maid to enter.
Chen Tianyu caught sight of the invitation in Qin Feng’s hand. “Ha! You say you’re trash, and you truly are.”
“Once the top disciple of the Wan Gu Tian Sect, now reduced to entering the auction with a commoner’s invitation. Can you even afford to buy anything in there?”
Chen Tianyu’s words drew the attention of the crowd, many of whom stared at Qin Feng incredulously. “What did you say? He was once the sect’s top disciple?”
“I checked his strength—it seems he’s only at the seventh level of spirit gathering. That’s weaker than me. Are you sure you’re not mistaken?”
“Our boss wouldn’t be wrong!” Seeing the disbelief around, one of Chen Tianyu’s followers stepped forward. “Remember, our boss and him were once from the same sect.”
“Even if he turned to ashes, we’d still recognize that face!”
“Actually, you might not know, but here’s what happened back then...”
The follower eagerly recounted how Qin Feng’s cultivation was crippled by a single word from his master years ago.
The crowd suddenly understood. “So that’s how it was.”
“I’m from around here. I heard about this before, but never in such detail.”
People do love gossip.
As the crowd thickened, more and more people gathered, soon forming an impenetrable circle.

The maid at the auction entrance, fearing a fight might disrupt business, quickly gestured to a page inside.
Only after seeing the page run off did she relax.
Outside, Qin Feng and Chen Tianyu stood on opposite sides, locked in a tense standoff.
“What kind of look is that? Don’t you think I’m telling the truth?” Chen Tianyu showed no fear facing Qin Feng’s gaze.
Did he still think he was the exalted sect top disciple?
No, he was nothing now.
Just a worthless failure!
How could such a failure win the favor of Immortal Murong?
Recalling that Murong Xue personally defended this loser in the sect, Chen Tianyu seethed with jealousy, nearly mad with rage.
Qin Feng clearly saw the hatred in Chen Tianyu’s eyes. Though he didn’t know why he had offended him, three years of harsh experience had forged his heart into unyielding stone.
Since Chen Tianyu hated him so much, then—
Qin Feng’s palm quietly summoned a surge of spiritual power. Just as he was about to release it—
“Stop!”
A sharp voice rang out.
Bai Muya appeared, clad in white robes, accompanied by auction house staff. “Who gave you permission to cause trouble here? If you want to come in, then come in. If not, get lost!”
Her skin was fair as snow, her features exquisite.
Her aura radiated power—clearly a seventh-level Qi Sea cultivator.
Bai Muya’s eyes, full of anger, fixed on the two men, especially on Qin Feng, with a hint of disdain.
“Are you the ones causing trouble? Do you intend to defy our auction house?”
Her words silenced the crowd instantly.
Everyone could see her extraordinary status, backed by the auction house’s power.
