Just as they were about to drag Jiang Yu away to torture her, a gunshot rang out. Suddenly, they realized they had been surrounded by unknown individuals. The remaining gang members panicked as those surrounding them appeared to be official personnel.

The hostages, seeing help arrive, immediately understood they were saved. Overwhelmed with emotion, they ran toward the rescuers and stood behind their protective shield, finally shedding tears of joy.

"You are now surrounded. Drop your weapons and stop resisting."

The gang leader glared darkly at Jiang Yu. "Did you call them?" Though he asked, he knew very well that no one else but her could have done such a thing.

"Damn it! If you don’t let me live, I won’t let you live either."

"What do you intend to do? Drop your weapon."

The gang leader ignored the warnings. He was fully aware that what he had done was enough to condemn him multiple times over. Falling into these people's hands would mean certain death. Yet he wasn’t ready to let the one who caused his downfall die either, hoping for a chance to be saved.

Jiang Yu sensed the murderous intent aimed at her and remained alert for any sudden attack. Her body had mostly recovered; if attacked, she could fend off a lethal blow.

At the moment the gang leader spoke, he struck at Jiang Yu, but failed to land the blow. Having anticipated this, Jiang Yu dodged his attack. Meanwhile, the rescuers moved in to subdue him.

Despite the gang leader's prowess, he was powerless against stronger opponents.

"Damn you, bitch! If you have the guts, kill me now, or I swear I’ll kill you!"

Jiang Yu was helped to her feet, staring at the still arrogant man.

There was no way she would let these bandits go free. She feared something might happen on the way; if they escaped, who knew how many more people would suffer at their hands.

Jiang Yu didn’t know the rescuers personally. They were sent by Jiang Yi. Before she acted, she had contacted Jiang Yi, but she hadn’t expected the rescue to arrive so late.

She immediately took out her phone and reported the situation to Jiang Yi, requesting that the remaining bandits be eliminated on the spot.

When the rescue team leader received the call from above, he glanced at Jiang Yu in surprise.

"Understood, leader... yes, yes."

Jiang Yu didn’t know the specifics of their conversation but could guess the general content.

After hanging up, the team dealt with the captured bandits. They then thoroughly searched the area, ensuring no one was left behind before preparing to leave.

The rescued hostages were also taken back. How they would be handled next was no longer Jiang Yu’s concern.
